One of the most pungent aromas Iíve ever smelled upon cracking open a bottle-- you would have though it was a 22oz container of candied peaches and melons, packaged in hibiscus tea, itís that tropical and fruity smelling. But then you pour what looks like a pretty "normal" beer-- light, lagery color, mostly clear. And then the taste resembles neither the appearance or the smell-- sharp earthy, gritty, bitterness with a relatively light mouth feel. It doesnít feel as thick or syrupy as Ninja v Unicorn or Blood of the Unicorn. A really interesting IIPA. I wish theyíd balanced out the bitterness with a bit more of the sweet, but itís really hard to complain about, for any true hop lover-- especially as long as you keep breathing in deeply as you drink (the smells really interact with the flavors heavily in this one).

Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours a clear orange with small frothy white head. The aroma is pine, grapefruit, and citrus. Medium mouthfeel with nice pine, grapefruit and bitter finish. Very good.

Bomber thanks to FullObs. Bottles late November 2013, 2.5 months ago. Pours a hazy golden amber with a small bubbly head that fades to a very small ring. Aroma is fresh juicy hops. Pineapple, orange, fruity pebbles, and wet grass. Tastes really good too but itís a bit too dry. Dry citrus peels with tropical fruit and light pine. Really good DIPA. Iím gonna have to try this fresher next time.

Small, off white head with fair retention and good lacing. Hazy copper/gold color. Nose of soft fruits, melons and citrus, lil yeast. Body is med/full with a prickly carbonation, lightly oily and resiny wqith some alcohol warmth. Big, straight on hops. Fruity, piny and citrusy, bit juicy but undermined by the alcohol which comes on strong in the finish. Dry, boozy finish with a mild bite. Bomber from my metalurgic friend, MOTORTODDHEAD. Thanks bro!

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a hazy dark orange with a half finger of off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, citrus and pine resin. Taste is medium bitter. Citrus and grapefruit with pine. A little caramel and lemon-wheat in there too. Light bodied with a slick and somewhat thin texture. Soft carbonation but a super long finish. Awesome overall. Definitely another pipeworks winner.

Bomber from the Art of Beer. Batch 255/56/57/62, so less than a month old. Pours an unclear tannish orange with a white head leaving nice consistent lacing down through the glass. Aroma has pine, fresh fruit, citrus and caramel. Taste is of spicy pine, orange juice, sweet stone fruits, some resin and a bit of a malty toffee base. some alcohol. Medium bodied, and quite dry. Finishes slightly to the bitter side of bittersweet; more bitter down through the glass. Enjoyed the cascade one better as the galaxy started nicely fruitier, but was more piney and more bitter, and ultimately not as good.
