Similar characteristics to Piraat 9%: Aroma is hoppy and quite sugary. Flavour is orange, citrusy and a bit sweet. Carbonation is quite high. This is quite a bit better than the Piraat 9 though - the flavour is more complex and less dry than the 9. Very good beer. brikelly (6), New Hampshire, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 21, 2009 330ml bottle into a Duvel tulip glass. Great frothy head and outstanding lacing. This ale pours in the most appealing manner and makes you want to start tipping it back straight away. The aroma is yeasty but unlike most other ales. Starts with a very intense flavor on the palate, dissipating to a pleasant, almost sour aftertaste. A very good beer, will buy again for sure. Arrrrrr. brokephibroke (140), Mead, Colorado, USA
