3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Definitly has a georgeous head. Incredibly sweet and obvious notes of alcohol. Not too shabby, but maybe a bit sweet for me. The sweetness tends to be a common complaint for me with this type though, i am more of an IPA guy. But, still not complainin.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
330ml bottle - pours a very hazy, deep gold amber color with a nice three finger, creamy head, but is disapates quickly. Lacing is average for a quality Belgium Beer. Aroma is nice and complex, mostly malts, lemon, citrus, yeast and other semi-sweet fruit. Flavor is full of smei-semi-sweet fruits, apricot, orange and hints of spices and vanilla. The alcohol, although well hidden, does come to the front now and then. This is a powerful brew and can sneak up on you quickly. Aftertaste is very full, rich and spicy. This is a great beer!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Presents with a hazy, deep golden, fizzy pour. Big, fluffy white head, but dissapates quickly. Complex rich aromas of fresh dough, yeast, lemon, apricot and malt. Even though this ale is well carbonated to style, its hefty body presents a full, smooth mouthfeel. Flavors of citrus, yeast, vanilla and a fruity sweetness are quite assertive but blend well and are pleasantly accentuated by the high alcohol content. Late palate transforms into a nice moderate hoppy bitterness which cuts down the ale’s sweet side and results in a long pleasing finish. An excellent Belgian and worth seeking out.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours out a cludy golden color with a decent sized white head. Aroma is of fruits and a bit of alcohol. Taste is smooth for the content, but it was missing something. Notes of fruits and some citrus with a slightly bitter finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A lot better than your usual blond beer. And strong too, without being overwhelming. Sweet malt flavours. Goes down smoothly.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I was hoping more from this one. Typical blond really. Gold hazy body with a white fluffy head, nice lacing at the start. Lots of lemon, soft fruits, and nice yeasty malts. It took a while to open up and even though it doesnt attempt to shine through, it worked well while playing video games.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
I don’t know about the product description, and looking back on notes from a beer judge in the early nineties, this seems to have evolved away from it’s complex routes to become the simplistic epitome of modern Belgian Golden Strong’s. That said, and with an open mind to that huge alcohol, I found this to be a tasty easy sipper. Poured into a Piraat tulip, quite cool. Brilliant orange gold body with fine wispy carbonation raising up a thin, yet dense and creamy white head that lasted and left trails of lace down the glass (attractive little bugger!). Spicy, lemon/lime cordial, vanilla and candi sugar nose with notes of bread crumbs and prickly alcohol. Quite soft and smooth in the mouth; big in body and with the first mouthful brings on that huge ABV. Flavours were simple and seamless, between vanilla and lemon-candi for sweetness, doughy yeast, a light hint of herbs and spicy white wine towards the back, before a warming vodka like swallow reminiscent of lemon flavoured ’Absolut Citron’. Overall, I didn’t mind this one, the alcohol managed to mellow as it warmed and it showed a little more fruit. Surprising!!! (33cL, 24BE 09:17)

On tap at Eulogy’s, Philadelphia, PA. ABV 10.5%. Clear golden yellow Belgium stong ale having no discernable head. No discernable carbonation. Nice sweet malt and fruity ester aromas. Medium bodied that starts with slight sweet malt and fruity grape flavors. Finishes dry with light malt aftertaste. No discernable bitterness. Definite alcoholic warmth. Excellent drinkable Belgium strong ale.
