Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

Small bottle -Poured blonde with a small white carbonated head. Aroma is of yeast, granny smith apples, and some citrus fruits. Flavor is of pineapple, apples, pears, bannanas. Quite sweet and syrupy. On the palate this is carbonated well very thick and sweet like syrup and the alcohol can only be felt through the warmth that comes at the back of each sip. Not bad but a little sweet for my tastes.

Bottled. Blondish beer with a stong head, the aroma is strong and sweet and the flavour is syrupy to accompany its strong alcohol content. Overall a good beer.

Had this on tap at the Drafting Room in Spring House, PA. Poured a cloudy golden with a small bubbly head. Fruity aroma, I smelled pear actually. Also picked up the pear in the flavor. Some spices and other "tropical fruits". This one was very sweat and very good. Slightly tart after taste. I had the bottled before I started rated beers and I don’t recall liking it quite as much as I enjoyed this draft.

poured a hazy golden with a nice white fluffy head, typical belgian good smell off sweetness and fruit, tastes sweet with a little bite, and silky smooth going down, this is my favorite style of beer. good body, very drinkable.

Draught: Clear gold white a white head. Strong fruity green apple aroma, with overpowering esters. Excessively sweet estery flavour, with heaps of pepper and alcohol. Medium bodied, but too much alcohol for me.

Deep gold with a white head that forms an island in the center. The aroma is interesting with a yoghurty softness over tropical fruit (banana and pineapple). It has a big body with plenty of warming alcohol, a crisp apple attack and a caramel finish.

Bit of a surprise. Odor is just a bit off, can’t quite place it. Vaguely fruity, yet yeasty. Cloudy appearance, with bits of fluff floating in it. Flavor is the real shocker. Big first flavor, almost spicy, with a bit of citrus in the finish. Not what I expected, but I’m happy with the results.

Hazy orange, fairly decent white head. Fruity, yeasty nose. Sweet, fruity flavour with hints of apricots. Citric, banana taste. Full bodied. Bitter palate.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2005 Wow, so... where’s the beer? This thing poured over 80% head! And it doesn’t go anywhere, either. Once you manage to get past the head though, you’ll find a fruity, very alcoholic tasting beer. Aroma is bananas, citrus, cloves, some pepper. Pepper in the taste too rounds out with a long, round, warmingly dull finish. Strong carbonation also tasted, and I couldn’t help but notice that the carbonation in the glass (at least little liquid beer was left) was almost thick and chunky. This is a crazy beer.

Bottle from somewhere in France. Pours a cloudy golden color. Huge head, alcohol is easily noticeable. This one has some bite. Enjoyable beer, but perhaps too much alcohol and not enough hops/malt balance. It was still enjoyable but nothing amazing.
