Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

330 mL bottle shared with ebone1988 for this stupid book. God damnit. The pour is a coppery gold color, crystal clear, with a pillowy white head that falls leaving some decent lace. The aroma is interesting itís really bready and malty with a slight tropical fruit and a light slice to it. Itís an interesting blend. I like the bread, yet dislike the spices. The flavor is more malt based. There is a definite lack of spice, which I like. The bready malts are nice, and the bubblegum makes for an interesting blend. The tropical fruitiness is there with a strong caramel makes this a lot better than I thought it would be. The mouth feel is thin and light with a brighter carbonation and a very dry, malty finish. Itís an interesting brew, but not awful.

Bottle - Slightly hazy golden colour, medium, slowly melting but persistent white head. Nice belgian yeasty and fruity aromas with lots of apple, plum and bread. Well balanced sweetness with some tutti frutti, honey, greem apples, pear and bread, some herbal hops. Full body, medium carbonation, silky mouthfeel and sweet fruity and doughy finish. Nice belgian strong ale, but not a World class one.

Bottle. Lidl. Amber colour. Lightly hazy. Noisy, lively, filmy, off white head. Nose has sweet, toasted malts. Boiled sweets. Pear drops. Some dried vine fruit. Some herbal, grassy hop. Taste is sticky sweet. Grassy, herbal bitter. Big, chewy, full palate. Sweet and slick. Big fizz thatís not quite sitting right. Long, floral, herby bitter finish. All over the shop.

0,33l bottle, Cloudy golden colour with slowly shrinking foamy white head. Aroma: Basement aromas, leather with notes of fruits and caramel. Taste: Very sweet start with a medium bitter moutfeel. Well balanced. You can feel the high alcohol % but not boozie or anything. Full bodied with lively carbonation. Long pleasent bitter and dry finish. Very good blegian strong ale. Refreshing, easy to drink but be creful, itís strong.

Bottle, from Lidl. Amber gold, fluffy and sustained white head and good condition. Malty sweet nose with hints of peppery spice and some fruity esters, full bodied and spirity in the mouth with a solid honeyed sweet malt note and a spicy/herbal note with hints of pepper and some citrus, warming and spicy finish tinged with yeastiness and long lingering retronasal alcohol.

Copper pour with big head that gives nice lacings. Aroma is of spices and alcohol, maybe some hints of yeast. Taste is bittersweet, of spices, faint caramel, toasted orange peels and some bread and jam. Nice beer, with a nice aftertaste. This one you must try!
