COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

Thick and rich with a nice bubble, this has a lot of hops and malt (but nicely balanced). Mild sweetness with a bold alcoholic taste, and a bitter-sweet aftertaste. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits. Very similar to the Stoudts Triple. Would buy again.

Pour is clear gold with a hint of orange and a tiny head. Aroma is strong alcohol with candy and some fruit. A bit sticky in body with enough carbonation to offset the stickiness. Flavor is sweet, and yummy. A lot of fruit flavors like apricot and apple with a nice alcohol bite. Finish is sweet.

Sweet malty aroma. Dark orange, with lasting white head, nice lacing. Lovely sweet malty taste. Spicy palate. Great beer.

Yar! A tasty ale where quantity came with quality. It was smooth, tasty and I almost didn’t finish this fine beer.

best before 10/2012 bottle . pours with a big white head that dissipates quite quickly .Light amber brown colour slightly hazy . Light fruity grassy aroma . Sweet almost creamy start fully carbonated changing to geen apples with alcohol showing through without a burn . Ends slightly bitter hoppy with a long drooling finish . My favourites are darker beers but I like this one

Splendid. Great aroma of tropical fruit and alcohol. High level of carbonation, along with gentle hopping gives this light amber beer balance, but the overall palette is sweet. Drink gently, this has plenty of alcohol in it, and the overall finish is more on the sweet side. Not something you want to session on, but a good finisher.

Reviewed from notes (2007). A: Solid cream-white head atop a amber-gold body. The head clings to the glass like soap suds. S: Belgian yeast with lemon and honey tones. A hint of spice and hop bitterness. T: Hops, honey, citrus, a touch of yeast and a touch of alcohol... rather fantastic... note... my rating might be a tad high due to nostalgic sensations... but i think its a fantastic brew. M: Smooth, hearty and a tad bubbly. O: The first time I had this years ago the bar tender said to me 15 minutes before last call "You want to end your night with this..." he gave a Piraat and there haven’t been any truer words!

The aroma is very sweet and fruity, with noticeable apricot, red grapes, and Belgian yeast. Full bodied and slightly sticky palate. It is very sweet, with fruity esters, banana, and a pronounced alcohol, although it is not too hot for 10.5%. The finish has notes of clove, honey, and crisp hops. A good Belgian Strong ale, but gets cloying due to the extreme sweetness.
