Refrigerated bottle poured into a glass. Pours deep golden with big white head. Taste is malt (mostly dried light fruit), some breadiness, and finishes spicy hops. Much closer to an english IPA than an american IPA. Overall good.

This is a rather dangerous beer. Way too drinkable for being 10.5%. A little sweet, smooth. A little bit fruity. Serving: Bottle and Tap

Tap at HopCat. Pours hazy golden amber with fluffy white head, from under which come aromas of unripe tart cherry, apricot, and booze. Estery Belgian flavors, strong alcohol burn. Medium body, a fun brew.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 adam42381 (320) - Fort Myers, Florida, USA - SEP 26, 2010
Poured from a 11.2 ounce bottle into a Chimay goblet.
Appearance: Pours an opaque caramel color with a 1 finger bubbly white head. Nice lacing.
Smell: Yeast, cloves, banana and alcohol. I don’t detect the hops I normally associate strongly with an IPA.
Taste: Sweet malt with banana, spices and a very mild bitterness. Light hint of alcohol. This tastes nothing like what I think of when I think IPA. Reminds me of a tripel. Aftertaste is bittersweet.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with a high amount of carbonation. Very smooth.
Drinkability: High drinkability despite the high ABV. This one could get you in trouble.
Overall: Excellent beer overall. Delicious flavor. I’m not really familiar with Belgian IPAs so I’m not sure if this is typical of the style but it doesn’t feel like what I expect from an IPA. Not necessarily a bad thing. This is delicious. I recommend trying it out.
