COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

I tried Paraat right after Orval and the pour was not giving me a whole lot of positive reinforcement. The aroma was incredibly lackluster compared to its predecessor. Light notes of bread, caramel and dough came fourth but not a whole lot else. The head was pretty weak as well. It diminished quickly and this wasn’t helping the murky appearance of the actual beer. But Piraat well made up for its short comings as soon as it passed my lips. The texture was awesome. Medium bodied and smooth, this bittersweet ale totally pleased my taste buds. Though the appearance and nose weren’t anything to get excited about, the taste of Piraat sends it above Orval IMHO. I’d drink this beer any day.

Pours golden yellow / orange with a slight white head. Aroma is mostly sweet with hints of honey, oranges, spices, and hints of citrus hops. Taste is mellow - sweet, malty, low hop flavors. Another fizzy beer from Van Steenberge, finishes slightly astringent with alcohol lingering. Good, just not great.

On tap at Sunset Grill. Pours golden with a two finger head. Moderate spiciness and hoppiness on top of a typical belgian ale. Above average but nothing special.

bottled- clear dark orange with clean white head. Aroma has sweet-boozy fruits, sugar, and a nice blend of maltyness. Tastes like light caramel, sweet malts, finishing out with bitter hops. Sweet and boozy, hides its booze well, has a dry finish, and good mouth feel. .

Sampled at Uptown Grille in Commerce Twp, MI. Murky gold color with thin white head. Aroma of light fruits (apples, pears), sweet malt, and mild peppery hops. Taste is sweet and slightly tart. Smooth and rich mouthfeel with mild carbonation. Pretty nice!

Piraat is boozy, spicy ,fruity and very rich and malty, bitter peppery finish . Big ass creamy top, above glowing straw. 10% booze is exciting and carries the beers goodness .
