Russo (595), Campinas, Brazil Nov 19, 2007 Bottled. Golden color with a amazing fluffy foamy, looks like a ice cream or snow, fantastic! Aroma is sweet and malty some alcohol notes, flavor is balanced between spicy and sweety, some honey and fruity notes, alcohol presents too. Good! Mouthfeel is refreshing. Too complex beer!
Retrogosto refrescante.
bonfunck (149), Waasmunster, Belgium Nov 19, 2007 This is one of my new favorite beers, piraat has a strong aroma and has the appearance of a golden beer, ist like a angle pissing on my tongue AR (417), Georgia, USA Nov 16, 2007 This just had to be the first beer I tried in my new set of Piraat glasses. Huge head on this heavy ale. Nice and smooth with a good blend of malts and hops resulting in a strong ale. A spicy-fruit flavor. boobunny (8), Getzville, New York, USA does not count Nov 16, 2007 I had this beer on draft. My initial smell was of banana and pineapple. You could also taste the banana and pineapple, as well as the spices. This is definitely on my list of favorites. It had a thick head, it hid the alcohol very well, and it went down very smoothly. scanovajr (361), Stanford, California, USA Nov 16, 2007 Bottled 33cl. A hazy golden orange beer with an airy white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity and alcoholic. Taste is also very fruity, yeasty and spicy. Notes of alcohol and honey. Dry and alcoholic end estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA Nov 16, 2007 Tap. Slightly hazy golden body, small white head, banana Belgian yeast nose. Typical tripel flavors, with banana, pineapple, spices, some yeastiness, some citrus (orange, lemon). Hides alcohol well. yarry (370), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Nov 15, 2007 33cl bottle, 10.5% a/v from an LCBO gift pack.
Pours a hazy gold colour with a thin tan head which likes to linger. Cloves, banana, pineapple in the nose, as well as a healthy does of alcohol. Taste is much the same, somewhat bland on the initial taste for a beer of this style but the tastes start to come out much more after the swallow. As well as once the beer warms up. Somewhat spicy and fruity.. Not an amazing beer but still a pretty good one. Edmoe (126), Orlando, Florida, USA Nov 15, 2007 Opaque pale orange pour with large white head. Good lacing. Aroma is sour, yeasty, and coriander. Flavor is spicy, sour, fruity, and surprisingly bitter (almost like chewing on a orange rind). Bitterness lingers unpleasantly.
