rayg1 (433), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA Oct 11, 2007 Pours out a nice golden color with a finger thick, fluffy white head. Aroma is awesome! Yeasty Belgian yeast meets the nose almost in an instant, a slight sweetness overall with the booze being noticable at the end of this sip. Also a spicy and fruity aroma to is as well. Now that this guy has warmed up a bit it is time to taste. Well I have to say that the sweetness is very present here and the alcohol is much more prevalent. This beer reminds me of an overly yeasty and boozy triple, which I hate. Sort of dissapointing, a light citrus flavor is the only thing in this beer that tried to round it out. Very average I’d say. gwpom (246), Akron, New York, USA Oct 9, 2007 11.2 oz bottle in the sampler. This is probably my favorite of the pack. Orange amber color, not as overly carbonnated as some of the others, nor as citrusy, although there is a touch of citrus. Has more zip to it (thank you 10.5) and I’m glad I saved the best for last. Doubt that I’ll get this particular label again, as overall I felt it a bit weak for Belgian.
jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 9, 2007 750ml bottle-pours a disappearing white head and gold color. Aroma is medium malt, ?, fruit, candy. Taste is medium malt, ?, fruit, candy, some yeast, alcohol. Occasional. Defreni (994), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 6, 2007 Flaske. Ingy (100), candler, North Carolina, USA Oct 1, 2007 bottle. golden with ample head. Hops, orange peel, spice, cinnamon(?), bread. Noticable alcohol. Interesting, fairly heavy, sip this one slowly. Taverner (827), San Ramon, California, USA Sep 30, 2007 Updated: Dec 6, 2007This beer claims to be an IPA and a Tripel. Well, the Belgian overrules the IPA hoppiness but you still feel the hoppy bitter finish. It works - but I would have to suggest they try this with a few more styles. Pours like champagne with a rich creamy head forming shortly after. Golden yellow and cloudy. Aroma of yeast (probably the only downside to this beer.) Full rich flavor that ends on a bitter note. tomthompson89 (1459), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 29, 2007 smokeless joes, golden murky color lotsa head boozy nose kinda sweet, again alcohol is dominant flavor but a little decent hop on finish hellbilly (1502), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Sep 27, 2007 tap @ papago. yellowy gold color with a fluffy white head. aroma is very fruity...pears cooked in brown sugar, apricots and oranges with bread/yeast and alcohol. flavor is a bit peppery with some earthiness and everything from the aroma combined with a little sweetness. medium to rich mouth feel with lots of carbonation. light yeasty bitter finish with a warming alcohol presence.
