Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

750ml Bottle. The pour was a hazy burnt orange with a small (less than 1 finger) white creamy head that was mostly lasting, reducing to a medium film and collar with very good spotty lacing.

The aroma was lightly sweet with a light bread malt, floral hops and a sweet Belgian yeast with notes of citrus (orange), a strong fruity ester (apple, pear and pineapple), a hint of spice and a decent alcohol tinge.

The taste was malty sweet with just a touch of a citrusy sweetness early on, becoming quite yeasty and just a tad bitter with a sweet fruity alcohol finish. The flavor hung around for a good long time proceeding the swallow, with a bitter fruity alcohol warming fading slowly, leaving behind a slightly spicy bite that hit you right in the back of the throat.

Mouthfeel was just beyond light in body with a lightly syrupy texture and a ticklish carbonation.

Overall I found this to be a fantastic brew with tons of flavor. It had it all, the perfect balance of a fruity citrusy sweetness, a bold yeastiness and a moderate hop bitterness. This allowed the mellowing of the high ABV, thus creating a most wonderful drinking experience... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews

From bottle. Dark golden color. Aroma is plum, pear, yeast, and spiced apple cider. Taste is dark cherry, plum, apple, yeast, and a subtle bitterness. Finishes with an effervescent bittersweet apple aftertaste.

Bottle - pours clear copper with medium head, noticeable yeast. Nose of yeast, spices, and banana. Highly carbonated and foamy mouthfeel. Taste of spices, brandy, yeast, and sweet warming booze. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very nice looking in the proper Piraat glassware, which is very similar to Duvel’s tulip. Hazy, light amber with a white, solid head and streaming carabonation that lasts to the final sip. The aroma is mainly malty, crackery, as a pumped up pilsner. Some fruitiness and faint hops. The taste is subdued and balanced, with the alcohol almost muted under the fight between sweet and bitter. A balanced finish that lingers, mainly dry. Light body that takes advantage of the chewy carbonation. In general, the smoothness despite the high ABV is impressive.

Tap at Grill Next Door. pours amber with an off white head. Aroma of caramel, clove. Taste follows nose, pretty warm. Slightly mineral at the finish.
