COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

big fluffy head. orange/amber body. aside from the yeasty bread aroma there was a slight undertone of blackcurrant. a big whiff of alcohol too tastes rich and complex. spicy, doughy, sweet with a bitter finish. nothing like the alcohol hit I expected, very subdued. a definite beer to revisit

I had forgotten how good this beer is. Golden, thick effervescent head. Spicy and crisp. Refreshing and dry. Tried with Anthony Hartman in Emporia 6/3/2008.

Appearance: Cloudy orange brown, lots of bubbles, spares white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma: Very cheesy. Very very yeasty. Leaves, dough, hay. Other strong notes of malt. Palate: smooth, slightly astringent. Very fizzy, slightly oily. Quite a dry finish for a belgian. Taste: Alcohol taste is quite strong. But it’s sweet other wise, with a slightly bitter finish. Aside from the strong alcohol taste, this is an awesome beer.

33 cl bottle, it took a long while before I tasted this beer because I had a bad feeling about it. The logo? The name? I Don’t know. So I’m quiet surprised. Sweet, sticky, not tasting the alcohol. I’ll drink it again.

Resembles a domestic swill in appearance, but super sweet goodness on the aroma. Major clove on the taste with some abrasiveness. Good Belgian.

33 cl bottle in Trappist glass. Slightly turbid Amber with a fine head. Nothing special coming through on the nose apart from a yeasty doughy smell. In the mouth the yeast is dominating with a slight fruity background. Surprisingly the alcohol is very discreet. A good ale but nothing exceptional.

Bottle in a pint glass - pours slightly hazy and light caramel in color with rich white foam. Nose is yeasty and of mild malts. Aroma is bread and yeast. Taste is sweet and does end on a bitter note, indicating some hops presence. I like the style. Medium body with an easy to drink texture. I can see myself drinking this again.
