mikey (336), farmington, Utah, USA Aug 29, 2007 Poured a hazy honey orange color with a thin white head. The nose started with a huge perfume of alcohol Then became spicy and yeasty with a slight maltiness. Peppery notes are present as well, as floral hoppiness shows up in the end. The taste starts with a sticky maltiness, then fruity with honey, pineapple and a strong alcohol burn. Cloves and light caramel come through also. In the end, bitterness becomes more prevalant and balances nicely with a surprisingly dry finish. This high octane brew is very rich and syrupy and will clear your sinuses with no problem. Drink it a little cold. Lest ye be warned. Arrg. beachbum25 (778), Powellville, Maryland, USA Aug 26, 2007 330 ML Bottle-Poured a Beautiful cloudy golden color w/a HUGE foamy, rocky, mountainous head. Took forever to go down & turn into thick lacing which lasted thru the brew. One of the most beautiful looking beers I’ve ever seen, if only the taste matched up to the appearence. Faint, sweet, Belgian aroma. Light Belgian flavor w/traces of sweetness & bread dough, but it was a very week flavored brew overall. Lacked the depth & freshness of a quality Belgian. Had some spice & carbonation, but had a thin & watery mouthfeel, no real decernable finish to speak of. Great dissapoinment based on how it looked out of the bottle, Thought this might end up being something special, but it just didn’t deliver. If they ramped up the flavor on this brew it could be truely great; alas it is just average! glennmastrange (810), hobe sound, Florida, USA Aug 25, 2007 Bottle. Moderate aromas of light bread, cereal and nuttiness for the malts, flowers for the hops, and dough and basement for the yeast with pepper and alcohol in the background. Head is fully diminishing, fizzy, white with fair lacing and the color is a sparkling golden amber. A great combonation of flavors with light sweetness and moderate acidity to start and moderate acidity and bitterness for the long finish. Palate is light to medium, between watery and oily and carbonation is lively. Nice beer that’s both rich and refreshing at the same time. Beltramelli (471), Campinas, Brazil Aug 14, 2007 Bottle. Cloudy golden coloration, with a very nice white head, dense and consistent. Average carbonation. Perceivable alcohol. Citric. Notes of damson plum. Bitter final.
malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Aug 13, 2007 11.2 ounce bottle in Gulden Draak tulip. Pours bright golden honey color with enormous lasting rocky head and great lace. Faint citrusy hop aroma. Flavors of peach, honey, tobacco, slight alcohol, with clean spicy finish. Medium body, medium carbonation. Much better than I expected. Acknud (770), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA Aug 11, 2007 Drank in a tulip. Pour slowly! Excessive head. Malty aroma. Strong alcohol kick and a slight metallic taste. Drinkable but other Belgians are much better. CigarsLoveBeer (153), Illinois, USA Aug 11, 2007 Bottle: Hazy peach color with an aroma that is first a very tart citrus, then a sweet apricot. In the mouth, this beer starts with apricot and cream like sweetness. The alcohol is very present. The cream lingers in the finish, which is dominated by spice. BREWMUSKCLES (1062), New Jersey, USA Aug 7, 2007 lively into the glass golden brew is sweet and not very spicy. tangy and it advises you swiftly of its kick.touch of melon at first beer finishes of alcohol and insufficient hops. it is a bit chalky. not much of an aroma. back to taste after sitting some time a brandy grape taste arrives with a touch of honey. accomapnied by a more mellow finish. burp of nothing but alcohol.
