| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 30, 2007 On tap numerous occasions, most recently 6/29/07. Deep golden color with stark white long lasting foam. Big alcohol and phenolic aromas. Warming alcohol flavors, a good bit of sweetness. If the opium growers of the world were to brew a beer, it’s name would be Piraat. Drinking this is like being hit in the face with a shovel coated in diamond coated razor blades, nothing cures a shitty day faster. yngwie (4903), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 29, 2007 Bottle at Københavnske Øldage. Golden, almost clear body with a minimal white head. Expected the head to be much bigger. Quite heavy aroma, with a good dash of alcohol, along with fruits, hops and pale malt. The flavor is the same, but lighter on the alcohol, at least until the finish. Full body. Long, sweet and spiced finish with wheat-like flavors and alcohol. A quite lovely beer, better suited for the winter time. (070512) MrRain (426), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 27, 2007 750ml bottle poured into a tulip. Piraat pours a hazy yellow with a large fluffy head supported on a rocky base. It smells like lemon meringue pie, bananas, alcohol and aluminum. It has a pretty solid alcohol base along with a dry citrus body. The bottle may be a little old as there’s a slight old glass or even metallic taste to it. The metallic taste brings this beer down a full notch. I won’t compensate for it because maybe it isn’t from a bad bottle. Piraat sweetens up at the end like a blended passion fruit and peach juice. jalichio999 (502), Brazil

Cloudy golden coloration, with a very nice white head, dense and consistent. Average carbonation. Perceivable alcohol. Citric. Notes of damson plum. Bitter final. Doggythedog (1551), Split, Croatia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 26, 2007 Bottle at the Hopdevil, shared with ozujsko (thanks!). Poured a big thick white head that lasted for ages. Darker golden colour. The nose was yeasty and grainy, bit lemon. The taste was domintated by a pleasant strong maltiness, some yeast, graininess, fruitiness and alcohol. A touch herbal. Not extremely complex. Most of these tastes, while somewhat common, complement one another very nicely forming a harmonic taste. Dangerously drinkable.
