DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA May 20, 2007 Thanx to Boboski for sharing this magnum.Poured a hazy, golden color with a thinning lace around the edge of the glass.Flavor was spicy, sweet and doughy, how strange of a mix. Finish was slightly alcohol induced but not too bad. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA May 20, 2007 Serving from a magnum courtesy boboski. Cloudy dark straw color with light broken white head. Swirling produces thick billowy head. Aroma yeasty with some spice. Taste was spicy, fruity, a bit sour, with some alcohol. Decent dry finish. elmatador00 (518), j-action-ville, North Carolina, USA May 20, 2007 Pours a unfiltered yellow with a large white head. Has hints of sweet fruits, huge amount of spices. Finishes with a nice alcohol warming in the stomach and tongue. Weird how the label read "amber ale". Thanks bobowski. radagast83 (1273), Fairfax, Virginia, USA May 20, 2007 Draft at Virginia Beer Festival. Wow, 10%... crazy. Much higher in alcoholic content than I imagined. I had seen this beer quite a lot, and wasn’t sure about how it would be. Alcohol dominates a lot of this beer - drink it slowly. Strong yeast and malt flavors dominate the beer. oh6gdx (8798), Vasa, Finland May 20, 2007 Draught. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is sweet fruits, malts and some slight bittering hops and glue. Flavour is glueish alcohol, which keeps the drinker warm indeed. The rest of the flavourexperience is sweet caramel malts and fruits. mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA May 20, 2007 Pours a cloudy gold, with a fluffy, well retained white head. Mild aromas, some spice and a little caramel, a little vegetables too which was a little strange. Pretty spicy, nice bite to it, very sweet, some orange citrus and brown sugar which really stood out. The alcohol is quite noticeable in the finish, but very flavorful as well. Quite a nice brew. madquacker (706), Canberra ACT, Australia May 19, 2007 Aromas of apricot and with a slight head. The alcohol content is not as dominating as you might think and is relatively balanced. Nevertheless is too strong on the alcohol and it overly dominates the smooth creamy/ apricot palate. Interesting yes, a good beer, no. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark May 15, 2007 Bottle. Average fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Clear flat golden color. Yeast, fruit, spice, caramel, coriander. Full bodied with an average carbonation and alcoholic texture. Moderated sweet flavor with some bitter notes. Sweet warming finish.
