3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 garthicus (2006) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 1, 2008
Bottle from variety pack. Colour; amber yellow, huge frothy white head. Aroma: Yeast and spice, very mild alcohol in the aroma also, some spices. Flavour: Malt, spices, alcohol, plums, with a bitter malt finish. Not bad.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 doubleo (1444) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 27, 2008
330ml bottle. Pours slightly hazy amber with a nice white head, goos retention, good lace. Smells lightly yeasty and bready with a hint of clove and spice. Tastes about the same. Lightly malty and yeasty with some bread and a hint of clove and spice. Nice. Medium body, nice carbonation.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 shendrix (478) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 20, 2008
This is a beautiful golden brew pouring with a massive creamy head. The nose is citrus fruits, the palate banana, pineapple, lemon, and orange against a honey backdrop and alcohol warmth. Damned good beer.
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20 MexiFinn (54) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - OCT 18, 2008
Interesting but, looking at all the glowing ratings for this brand maybe I must of gotten a bad bottle or something... this is the first $10 bottle of beer that I dumped the majority of down the sink. Tasted like an orange soda made with orange peels, fizzy with an alcohol afterbite. Must be the European equivalent of King Cobra if you add a couple shots of vodka to pump up the ABV? Real pirates should stick to rum... Yo ho, and cheers.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 DragonsHead (140) - Erie, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 17, 2008
This is one of the only belgian beers I really like. It has such a fruity, and nutty spiced taste. If I could bathe in it, I would.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 SuperDave (1934) - Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA - OCT 11, 2008
Clear deep gold pour with a big creamy head that lasts throughout the glass. Good fruity aroma with some malty sweetness and spicy hops, and a lot of alcohol. Flavor is similar, fruit and alcohol being the main components, though the alcohol fades as it warms, (and as you drink more!) Just a touch of hop spiciness on a pretty dry finish. Good brew!
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Bungalo22 (326) - Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA - OCT 10, 2008
Poured into a snifter a dark yellow with a nice but small head. It is smooth and fruity but the alcohol does come though.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 SamGamgee (2451) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - OCT 10, 2008
33cl bottle. Dark gold, clear, with lasting foam. Apple, pear, and spicy hops in the aroma. Alcoholic and sweet, with some pear and tangy yeast snap. Medium bodied with ample carbonation. Decent drinkability, but I feel that this would be a lot better if it was toned down a couple percentages.
