Aroma is spice, malt, and light floral hops. Taste is slight spice, yeast, sweet malt, and a sweet corn taste. Alcohol is warming and not well hidden. Has a syrupy consistency and just doesn’t do itself justice. Meh. Cybercat (784), Georgia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 18, 2007 Looks good and drinkable. Aroma has strong fruity overtones, making it smell almost like a cider rather than an ale. Taste is strongly fruity, as well as malty with quite a bite of bitter. A nice jazzy ale that is a pleasure to drink. AskForJenny (632), Ontario, New York, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 15, 2007 Very strong fruity aroma. Some tartness and a wiff of apricot. Orangy copper pour. Clingy head. Disapointingly wattery for a belgian strong. The scent is much stronger then the taste. Boozy aftertaste which I love. Seems like it’s trying to be a trapists or a St. Bernardus. Still amazing vs locals and macros but overall disapointing compaired to other belgian strongs I have had. Somewhat too sweet and definately over carbonated. emerica56 (579), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA

it was years ago that ill tasted this beer.
Dark golden color with a nice creamy white head. Aroma hop aroma, with spice, Taste: yeast, to much of alcohol, and fruitiness. Palate medium/full, dryer than expected, alcoholic. Some of the alcohol comes off a bit too strong. cheapdark (2015), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Apr 7, 2007 On tap at the Mad Mex in Robinson near Pittsburgh. The look of this beer in a clear glass is ubiquitous pale yellow american lager - very deceiving. That is where the wontedness ends. There is absolutely no head on this whatsoever. It has a gentle perfumy aroma, fruity and possibly candy too. Wow, first taste is very whiskeylike. The alky is not well hidden. If you are from the Pittsburgh area, the flavor of this reminds me of a boilermaker. I feel I am drinking strong wine or mild liquor. Very little carbonation if not flat. Finish is strong on the uvula, alky hot bitterness that lasts for a while. I was expecting much more from this brew with all the hype I heard in passing before I tasted this. On par with Legacy Euphoria, Kasteel and Delerium. Unlike trppels, I guess they don’t make a real smooth belgian strong. Not impressed.
