Commercial Description:
Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

Cloudy orange with a large, off-white head. Yeasty clove and cotton candy in the aroma. The candy sweetness of the flavor detracts from the rest of the beer.

Bottle. Pours rich and cheddary, with a nice head and beautiful lattice work. Aroma is a hint of sage, followed by bread and citrus. Flavor is a sweet grapefruit with cooking spices and a touch of sweet bread. Palate is thick and chewy. Great Belgian.

Bottle. Poured a golden color with a very big nice white head. While the head is dissapating it leaves a nice lacing along the inside of the glass. Aroma is spicy and sweet. Taste is fruits. Very smooth taste down the throat. A sweet malt taste to end. A decent Belgian Strong Ale.

Aroma was sweet, yeasty, not all that great. Golden pour, nice white head, nice lacing. Sweet, malty, prune flavor, but medicinal too. Medium body. Decent beer, but not all that drinkable.

Bottled - Poured a cloudy, deep golden that had a large white head. Aroma of yeast, alcohol, caramel and hops. Had a nice taste of melting yeast, hops, caramel and alcohol. Crisp finish with bitterness and alcohol.

Bottle at The Dovetail, London. Clear amber with a huge white head that does not seem to reduce in size at all. Great saaz hop aroma blending with coriander and spicy yeastiness. Sweet caramel flavours meet spicy hops and yeast to make a well-balanced beer with a dryish finish. Very fizzy. One of Van Steenberge’s best, no doubt.

Golden color wth tiny little particals floating around. Smell of fruit, malt and yeasty. Tastes like banana nut bread. Taste of more fruit and alcohol. Dry bitter at the end.
