Commercial Description:
Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

Smells like glue. Phenolic bandaids and bubblegum. Yuk. Yuk. Cereal, popcorn, some smokey wheat flavor. Boozy. Reminds me of putty or dough. Ginger Man, NYC, Segal trip.

A pleasant surprise to one not enthralled by Belgians. Mostly clear amber with a nice, frothy white head. A sweetness to the aroma and flavor with notes of fruit and spice. A tad alcoholic. Relatively full bodied and slight carbonation. Some sweetness and spice in the flavor.

330ml bottle served in a Duvel glass. Golden amber beer with a thick white head and nice lacing. Looks great. Aroma is fruity, floral, and alcoholic. Flavor is fruity and slightly sweet malt, with a fairly good hop presence, and a good alcohol kick. I love alcoholic triples and this one is close enough. Just one of these is a great attitude adjustment. Not awesome but not too far off the mark. Single purchased at Total Wine & More, Jacksonville FL.

"Poured a light amber color with okay head not much lacing. Aroma was of alcohol and floral. Flavor was much the same little sweet for my liking. Okay beer better then average."

On tap at the Sharp Edge, PGH, PA. Golden yellow color, dense white head. Aroma is raisins, alcohol, and malt. Sweet malt flavor with raisins and alcohol warmth. (This doesn’t seem to be too hoppy yet was written up in the menu as a triple IPA. It’s either an error in the menu or a misnomer) Nothing too complex here.

Bottle. Nice big head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Taste is sweet and fruit as well with some alcohol to it. But not too alcoholic at all.

Nice appearance. A dark cloudy honey like color with off-white head. Yeasty, citrusy and spicey scent. Nicely balanced with a grapefruit like acidic body and a smooth long plesantly dry finish with hints of coriander hoppyness and a honey background. Nice palate feel and the alcohol is very well hidden.
