3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beer2000 (2918) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - OCT 7, 2011
330 ml bottle. Golden body with a big, creamy white head. Aroma is sweet malt, fruity, traces of light burnt sugar, spices, some alcohol and a bit perfumed. Flavor is sweet and fruity, with enough alcohol to avoid feeling sticky, fruit, not much bitter and pleasant alcoholic. Relatively full bodied. A nice strong Belgian golden ale.

This beer pours a pretty light amber color with a very thin head that dissipates quickly. Typical aroma for a Belgian Strong, nuts fruits and malts. The beer starts off with a boozy note that persists throughout the taste. The beer also taste of dough, hay, sweet berries and nuts. It has a nice small floral note at the end. Good beer overall, does the style proud.

Poured bottle into tulip glass. Dangerously smooth and delicious for 10.5% alcohol. Belgian. Strong. Golden. Ale. What more must be said?
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Kriegbaum (616) - Randers, DENMARK - SEP 27, 2011
Bottle 33 cl. clear amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is sweet with malt and yeast as it consistently. The flavor is sweet with a rich amount alkogol. A full-bodied beer that is still letdrikkelig despite the high alcohol content.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 POLK (1286) - Hørning, DENMARK - SEP 24, 2011
Clear amber color with a big white head. Fine spicy flavor. A Belgian sweet and heavy strong ale which is fine in small bottles.
4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 AWMiller (476) - Mansfield, Texas, USA - SEP 22, 2011
Of the IPA line of brews, Belgian IPAs are sure to rank at the top! This brew pours up a creamy, murky, hazy apricot colored body sporting a bubbly two-finger head with great retention and lacing. Served just slightly cooler than room temperature so that the scents and flavors are maximized. Slight hints of apricots (possibly apples?), hops, alcohol, and warm biscuits. Flavors of apricots, honeycomb (not the cereal!), just a hint of cloves, and a bite of hops at the end. The body is very creamy, almost silky.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 lachrymalisis (144) - Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 21, 2011
I love the way this beer pours - golden honey, slightly hazed with a huge 3 finger head with massive peaks. Serious lacing and glass viscosity.
The aroma is big on pineapple, pear, honey, banana, grassy earth and sweet yeasty bread. The alcohol does peek through, but just barely—it’s actually what gives the tropical fruit aromas I think. I couldn’t pick up on everything until it warmed a bit. Incredibly aromas, one of the best I’ve ever had.
Mirrors the aroma - caramel, pear, buttery honey-tinged bread, plus mellow hop bitterness on the back and sides, and a faint alcohol flash on the finish. I picked up the spice that the brewery boasts about...absolutely perfect yeast spice and good alchohol warmth when it goes down. Just spectacular on the tongue.
Nice feel - medium light and bubbley, like drinking a soda. Medium dryness on the finish and dangerously drinkable for the high ABV (and the price). I got pretty buzzed after the 2nd one...accidentally of course! It’s very strong.

Bottle at home. Hazy deep golden pour, thick solid white head. Aroma is quite malty with ripe fruits, spices, peppery and with some alcohol. Flavor is bitter spices, backed by a huge malty base. Very thick body, quite strongly alcoholic, but still very drinkable. Very decent Belgian ale.
