COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, alcohol, wheat, yeast and floral hops. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a very warm alcohol and light fruity finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Mild, complex flavor. Drinking straight out of the bottle, so unable to judge appearance. Unusual distinction of getting better as it sits (and warms). IBU is a little higher than my preference, but worth another round.

BB 08/04/15. Poured as half a glass of off-white foam over a clear amber coloured liquid. Retained too well, not wanting to diminish. Laced well. Carbonation high and coarse. Aroma of sweet honeyed yeast. Taste very sweet honey-like yeast, a bit sugary, a bit phenolic; alcohol well hidden; too sweet but understandably due to the high alcohol. Light body. Smooth, crisp, but for me too sweet - only one at a time!

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Appears a cloudy brown with a frothy inch of head. Yeasty/doughy smell. Mix of bitter and sweet tastes with some saltiness as expected. The full-bodied feel and lively carbonation is exciting. Great beer with a strong character, would be hard to have more than one in a sitting.

Keg at 6DN, Aberdeen, 20/06/14. Golden with a moderate white covering. Nose is tangy dark fruits, spice, candied fruit peel, light booze, sugars. Taste comprises yeast esters, dates, candied fruit peel, spice, sugary syrup. Full bodied, light prickly carbonation which helps keep it drinkable, the alcohol is well integrated. Ok Belgian strong.

So spicy! I had forgotten that part. Rich, and flavorful, the alcohol adds richness and mouthfeel that I really appreciate.

Good taste, a cool IPA without the bitter of an IPA. Much flavor in a small bottle with good flare to hit the palate!

Pours a light amber color. Aroma and taste are caramel, fruits, alcohol, wood and hops.

orange colour. I like the aftertaste and the initial response But it improved considerably with temperature and time. Definitely got the bread dough.
