Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

Very nice looking in the proper Piraat glassware, which is very similar to Duvel’s tulip. Hazy, light amber with a white, solid head and streaming carabonation that lasts to the final sip. The aroma is mainly malty, crackery, as a pumped up pilsner. Some fruitiness and faint hops. The taste is subdued and balanced, with the alcohol almost muted under the fight between sweet and bitter. A balanced finish that lingers, mainly dry. Light body that takes advantage of the chewy carbonation. In general, the smoothness despite the high ABV is impressive.

Teku glass. Deep amber/gold colour with nice, big, creamy white, long lasting head. The aroma is big biscuit, bready mixed with hops - mainly fruit aromas and some herbs, spices (coriander?), again the big grainy aroma and also grape juice. The taste is medium to heavy sweet, crackery, some biscuit, warming booze sensations, there are also some yeasty notes - clove and earthy. The aftertaste is big malty and again bready. The warming booze sensations begins somewhere in the middle till very end. The body is smooth, thick with high carbonation and smooth finish. In overall interesting belgian beer, which strikes with lots of aromas and flavours.

Stub bottle. Super boozy! Gorgeous deep orange colour. Not really feeling the aftertaste and the initial response was that it was too overpowering. But it improved considerably with temperature and time. Definitely got the bread dough. Not a huge fan.

Bottle, pours a light amber with a white head, tastes sweet with fruits and yeast and a little hoppy bitterness. Not bad

In short: a good boozy belgian ale.
Pours hazy dark gold. Frothy white head. Moderate head retention, good lacing. Citrusy, caramel, spicy, malty aromas. Medium body, average carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is malty, yeasty, some citrusy, spicy. Dry finish. Alcohol noticed.

Lovely big fruity aroma, lots of yeast on the nose, cloudy orange in the glass, with thin foamy head. Lots of flavour, big and rounded, little sweet with the alcohol present late on. Some spices, fruit (orange, citrus, resin). Liking this one!
