COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

11.2 oz bottle. Pours a clear gold with an orange hue. Lots of creamy off-white head that lasts. Aroma of grain, orange peel, grass, spices and underlying alcohol. As it starts to warm a lot of funky notes start emerging. Ctirus, bitter hops, mild sweetness and definite warm booze, not a weak one. A great use of hops in this Belgian; good bitterness, but not overwhelming. I’ll never get bored with this beer!

Had at the Great Arkansas Beer Festival 2014. Nice beer. Pours a clear golden. Smooth and slight bitterness. Slightly boozy, but overall, a very nice beer.

APPEARANCE - Pours coppery red, with a huge, five-finger beige head that lasts a long time. It leaves a floaty yeast lump up till the last sip. SMELL/AROMA - Herbaceous, sweet, a little piney. TASTE - Sweet, herbaceous, piney. Definitely not bitter as advertised. ABV only a bit hidden. MOUTHFEEL/PALATE - Lots of carbonation, light, not syrupy. OVERALL - A bit boozy, but a nice beer, sippable, not quaffable. Advertised as bitter, but it’s not at all bitter IMHO.

Appearance is large white head and deep amber. Aroma is sweet. Taste is a very nice blend of sweet malts, spices, and a strong alcohol undertone. Overall a good Belgian.

Gorgeous white foamy head from tap. Not much aroma. Very caramelly with some hops sweet and citrus. Nicely thick mouth feel with some carbonation.

Pours a hazy golden with a substantial foamy head. Nose is Belgian yeast, bready, spicy yeast, a bit of booze. Taste is Belgian yeast, doughy, bready, sweet and some dryness, some fruity esters, spicy, lively carbonation. Overall I really like this, it's well balanced and complex. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 330 ml at Tituš, Zagreb. Pours yellow with white head. Malty and yeasty aroma and taste. Caramel and bit spicy. Presence of alcohol not that hidden. Not a favourite of mine.

Mild, complex flavor. Drinking straight out of the bottle, so unable to judge appearance. Unusual distinction of getting better as it sits (and warms). IBU is a little higher than my preference, but worth another round.

BB 08/04/15. Poured as half a glass of off-white foam over a clear amber coloured liquid. Retained too well, not wanting to diminish. Laced well. Carbonation high and coarse. Aroma of sweet honeyed yeast. Taste very sweet honey-like yeast, a bit sugary, a bit phenolic; alcohol well hidden; too sweet but understandably due to the high alcohol. Light body. Smooth, crisp, but for me too sweet - only one at a time!
