COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

Pours a lovely cloudy dark honeyed amber. Bready aroma with dried fruit, apricot, orange... Delicious, sweet, long finish with honey & fruit. Excellent.

Excellent beer. Pours with a mountain of soft creamy foam. Aroma is sweet and doughy, with spice. Flavor is very yeasty and very spicy. Loses some points from me for being a bit to sharp on the tongue, still great.

Much creamy and bulky head, optimal persistence. Orange overcast color, much dense, hazy and fraught with a good fizz. Sweet and strongly alcoholic scent with determined clear mildew notes, leaven and alcohol. Prickly and full bodied taste, warm with sweet malty, wine cellar and clear fruits notes. Much alcoholic and sweetish long-lasting final.

Straw with a multitude of miniscule bubbles. Aroma is mostly flat malt, yeast, doughy bread and spice. The second layer is overipe fruits, wet firewood, grandma’s fruit cellar and morning dew. Some alcohol as well. First sip is deep, rich and complex. Starts with loads of malt and moves to a fruity dryness that spreads evenly, and vigorously, across the tongue, throttling taste buds along the way. This is really thick compared to other BSAs that I’ve had, which is nice. Warms some in the finish.

Hazy gold. Well built, fizzy, white head. A few yeast floaters suspended in the murkiness. Nose of pungent, past ripe fruit, doughy yeast, rich malt, candi sugar, and a bit of straw. Same flavors, plum, clove, and cotton candy, also. Dry, alcoholic, browned fruity yeast finish. Full, balanced body. Decent lacing. AAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRgh!

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2005 Wow, so... where’s the beer? This thing poured over 80% head! And it doesn’t go anywhere, either. Once you manage to get past the head though, you’ll find a fruity, very alcoholic tasting beer. Aroma is bananas, citrus, cloves, some pepper. Pepper in the taste too rounds out with a long, round, warmingly dull finish. Strong carbonation also tasted, and I couldn’t help but notice that the carbonation in the glass (at least little liquid beer was left) was almost thick and chunky. This is a crazy beer.

Dull gold murky appearance – nice head however the head does not last long– nose is sour milk and raw dough, flowers, and caramel – medium body – initial taste is sweet then turns acidic, and dried apricotish - aftertaste is medium with a creamy, acidic and alcohol
