Deep golden color with stark white long lasting foam. Big alcohol and phenolic aromas. Warming alcohol flavors, a good bit of sweetness. If the opium growers of the world were to brew a beer, it’s name would be Piraat. Nicely balanced and fairly easy to drink, the spices do not overwhelm the malt character and sweet fruit goodness. Sourish aromas with a typical belgian spiciness and some earthy hoppiness. Very sweet w/ a fair amount of vanilla. Soft body. No bitterness. Lots of alcohol in the finish.
