Commercial Description:
Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

On tap numerous occasions, most recently 6/29/07. Deep golden color with stark white long lasting foam. Big alcohol and phenolic aromas. Warming alcohol flavors, a good bit of sweetness. If the opium growers of the world were to brew a beer, it’s name would be Piraat. Drinking this is like being hit in the face with a shovel coated in diamond coated razor blades, nothing cures a shitty day faster.

Whooo! You can definitely taste that alkyhol. Once you get around that flavor, you get some fruit and spice notes. Strooooong!

Pours a yellow/orange color. Aroma is sweet and wheaty. Some spice in there as well. Rich thick somewhat sweet flavor with a nice alcoholic bite. Tastes a little like a spicy apple juice at times. Very good.

Pleasant aroma. Spicy with yeast. Alcohol is well hidden, but certainly not forgotten.

Spicy sweet lemony alcohol aroma rises from the enormous white head. Nicely balanced and fairly easy to drink, the spices do not overwhelm the malt character and sweet fruit goodness. Enjoyable but be careful, one of these can put you off kilter a bit.

On tap at the map room. Pours a lite straw w/ a frothy head. Sourish aromas with a typical belgian spiciness and some earthy hoppiness. Very sweet w/ a fair amount of vanilla. Soft body. No bitterness. Lots of alcohol in the finish.
