Bready, fruity citrus and spice aromas, fruity pear, apple, lemon and spicy flavors. Full bodied with a mildly carbonated, smooth mouthfeel, sweet finish with alcohol present, very drinkable for the alcohol content.

A nice belgian strong, with a citrusy fruitness too it that I liked. I have had several beers from the Van Steenberge brewery and I have yet to be dissapointed. Nice rich golden color with moderate carbonation, there was indeed a doughy flavor to it, that made it slightly chewy. It also had a good dry tartness that increased as the beer warmed, I hope to be able to come across another one of these. Drinkingdan (371), East Norriton, Pennsylvania, USA

Somehow I keep forgetting how much I enjoy this brew, yet on those occasions when I happen upon it again - I am reminded. Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this brew pours a hazy pale golden color with a huge white head that leaves lots of lacing. The aroma is sweet, tangy and yeasty with a hint of spice. The flavor is sweet and sugary with a strong yeasty element and a hint of citrus and pepper on the finish. Very nice. 3daddict (139), Portland, Maine, USA

Pours a cloudy golden color with a willing head and lotsa fine lacing. Rich yeasty pineapple aroma. Creamy spice flavor with a gripping mouthfeel and lingering sweet marmalade and bread aftertaste with a hop tingle. Raise the Jolly Roger because I’m off to plunder some more of this delicious booty! beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA

Fruity and floral aroma. Thick, fizzy palate. Flavors of citrus fruits, metalics, a little sweetness that is balanced by bitter hops and malts. As the beer warmed the tropical, citrus fruit and the sweet flavors were really accentuated. It’s perfect for just sipping and enjoying for an hour or so. I least that’s what I did with it. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 23, 2007 The head falls thin, but doesn’t break. The lacing sticks a little, but not much, and the color is a bright gold throughout.
The smell is clovey, fruity, and crisp.
The taste is a little fruity with burnt sugar, and as I it warms flavors of orange and apple.
The mouthfeel is crisp, but not harsh.
Drinkability is great, the beer is crisp, refreshing and fruity, but still soft.
