3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Slightly malty aroma with a little alcohol. Sweet taste with well balanced malt and alcohol, spices and big ripe fruit. Again this is a typical belgian blond ale, but this one stands out, with it’s power from the alcohol. Nice carbonation and medium mouthfeel.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste belgian yeast, sweet, fruity. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ Belgian Brasseie Henri. Cloudy, pale yellowish golden color, long-life medium sized foamy off-white head, malty and citric aroma, medium body, honey sweet taste with malty notes, spicy hoppy palate. Well-hidden alcohol content. Nice one.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: light orange-amber color with some hanging sediment, topped off with a voluptuous, off-white layer of porous foam. Aroma contains notes of apple, pear, spice, clove, coriander, mild phenol, & some chalky potency. Light esters, bread, & yeast in the tail end. Taste is much the same with a characteristic Belgian profile; clove, light bubblegum, spiced yeast, toasted bread, some apple & pear skin sharpness, earthy esters, & a slightly medicinal phenol finish. Itís alright, but I prefer Duvel.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home. Pours a cloudy golden color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor has resiny and mild citrus hops, alcohol, spices including coriander, Belgian yeast, fruit. Flavor is sweet and spicy, with yeast, doughy malt caramel, fruit, and warming alcohol. Medium bodied, the 10.5% shows a bit.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
All the good things in a classical ale, plus a strong and great flavour, a sensation in the throat similar to liquor, and very clean.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
330ml bottle from Craft Wine Store. Thus is a beer I have searched long and hard for, well worth the search. An absolutely great tasting beer full of fruity flavours, aromas and goodness.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nose is sweet malts & fruits with obvious alcohol. Taste is sweet dried fruits, molasses, roasted coconut (?) and then some tartness & sourness. As per the smell, alcohol is highly obvious & not masked at all. Not bad but lacks the subtlety & balance of the great belgians.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Another old timey, strong -- really strong, and sweet Belgian Ale. I canít say I really care for these strong Belgian ales anymore, unless they have something more compelling to offer-- like most Trappists, or good sours.
