billk (291), Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, USA Mar 27, 2008 Tap @ Eulogy. Hazy golden with large small bubble pure white head. Nice spicy, floral, perfumy Belgian tripel with alcohol noticeable but not distracting. Somewhat sweet but not overdone, balanced nicely with the hop flavors and bitterness. Into medium bodied but possessing a delicate, refined complexity of flavors. I liked this Belgian strong and look foreword to drinking it again.
SuperDave70 (832), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Oct 11, 2008 Clear deep gold pour with a big creamy head that lasts throughout the glass. Good fruity aroma with some malty sweetness and spicy hops, and a lot of alcohol. Flavor is similar, fruit and alcohol being the main components, though the alcohol fades as it warms, (and as you drink more!) Just a touch of hop spiciness on a pretty dry finish. Good brew! Bungalo22 (305), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA Oct 10, 2008 Poured into a snifter a dark yellow with a nice but small head. It is smooth and fruity but the alcohol does come though. SamGamgee (593), Santa Cruz, California, USA Oct 10, 2008 33cl bottle. Dark gold, clear, with lasting foam. Apple, pear, and spicy hops in the aroma. Alcoholic and sweet, with some pear and tangy yeast snap. Medium bodied with ample carbonation. Decent drinkability, but I feel that this would be a lot better if it was toned down a couple percentages. Indulgence (124), Ajo, Arizona, USA Oct 6, 2008 Very good beer for 10.5 ABV, very smooth and very drinkable. Excellent balance of light colored fruits of apricot, peaches from the yeast and some sweet malts, sourdough and a little must along for the ride, goes down very well, just a noticable perceptible tinge of alcohol. Finish is smoooooth and velvety and some sweetness hits the spot, and semi dry. markwise (287), Satellite of Love, Florida, USA Sep 29, 2008 750 from Total Wine Clearwater, courtesy of JimmieG. It pours a clear amber-gold with a white pillowy head. Sugary bread, apple, and an almost berry sweetness come out in the aroma. The flavor is sweet with a sugary-bubble-gum-like finish. Excellent golden ale.
