2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Abio (1351) - Waasland, BELGIUM - JUL 11, 2012
Fruit and earthy yeast at the smell, combined in a weird way, a bit unnatural and chemical. Taste is not much better, earthy with some dark fruits and caramel that gets trough. Slightly metallic besides some hops. Should be good for about a year longer. Medium biterness, but not what I was hoping for.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Borresteijn (3681) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JUN 8, 2012
33cl Bottle at Lost Property. IPA? Wow.. Clear deep ruby amber colour, creamy off white head. Aroma is very sweet, candy, light hoppy, caramel, toasted malts. Flavour is sweet, malty, caramel, cotton candy, bitter hoppy finish with a grainy touch. Light to medium bodied. Not bad, but not an IPA by far.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 IluvatarMilan (190) - Eindhoven, NETHERLANDS - APR 20, 2012
Bottle @ Frape. Completely un-IPA like colour, deep ruby red to purple. Like wine with a small whit head. Underwhelming nose, bit soapy, soft and off-key. Taste is surprisingly goog and equally unlike an IPA. Very, very spicy, berries, currant. Aftertaste is good, but quickly dissappearing. Medium bitterness and mouthfeel.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 omhper (17558) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 20, 2012
Bottled at Pressklubban, Stockholm. Hazy mahogany colour, fairly rich head. Fruity nose with black currant and coffee. Mid sweet with medium-full body and soft mouthfeel. Nutty with some coffee, covered by a generous blanket of floral black currant hops.some dark chocolate comes through in the long, bitter finish
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Travlr (8185) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - MAR 2, 2012
Bottle. Clear dark brown color, creamy beige head that settles quickly. Aroma of caramel and nuts. Taste is sweet caramel with a toasty and nutty edge. Not bad.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 suprchunk (1447) - Heinsberg, GERMANY - DEC 21, 2011
Dark mahogany colored pour. Big, almost white head that fades quickly but leaves a bit of lacing behind. Big malty aroma. Taste of malt and caramel. A little bitterness. Sweet. Not too shabby. Much better than I would have thought from the appearance.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 vickey9 (308) - Brussels, BELGIUM - OCT 26, 2011

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 BoBoChamp (4256) - Gent, BELGIUM - OCT 7, 2011
33cl, by Hugel (at Gulden Spoor), new exclusive brew Anno 2011, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex brew, bitter/fruity and slightly spicy/sweet, balanced, cloudy, small head, good brew
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JorisPPattyn (7363) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 24, 2011
Small, tan head, fast gone over muddy cola-coloured beer, orange sheen. Bananaester, near a German Weizen, bubble gum. Dry wood, but still mixed with banana (even overripe banana). Fuselalcohols, for sure. Medium bodied at least, quite carbonated. Chocolate and non-sweet liquorice flavours in the aftertaste. Not bad at all. The nose is unsettling for a Belgian beer, let alone for something aimed at IPA...
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 tderoeck (3057) - Gent, BELGIUM - AUG 15, 2011
14/08/2011 33cl bottle @ Internationaal Streekbierenfestival Zwevegem (2011-392)
Cloudy red brown beer, light beige small head, unstable bit adhesive. Aroma: fruits, bit of pineapple but just very faint, metallic. MF: good carbon, full body. Taste: bit sweet, fruity, mocha, hops, some caramel, citrus. Aftertaste: citrus, hops, pretty dry finish. Not exactly what is to be called an American IPA.
