3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber shared poured a medium brown with smallish tan head. The initial aroma is brown sugar, black pepper, dark fruits, and booze lots of booze. The flavor holds true and then some. This goes from the sweet dark fruits to the brown sugar to the black pepper to the alcohol burn. The pepper is not a deterrent either blends very well. Overall this is a very nice barley wine. This bottle is dated 11/26/2013.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Big butterscotch aroma right up front. Flavor is medium sweet with a good hit of brown sugar and a firmly hoppy finish. A bit abrasive, perhaps it will mellow with some time in the bottle.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: AUG 10, 2008 Pours a dark maroon, with a small off white head. Smells of some light bready yeast, lightly sweet dark fruits, and caramel malt. The flavor has a bit of that bready yeast complex to it, with the caramel malt becoming a prominent figure in this beers identity. The finish is fairly malty with good doses of bitterness attacking the leavings on the palate. Decent little mix of dark fruit is left in the aftertaste. Not bad, but didnt blow me away.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 oz. bottle. Dark brown, with ruby notes. Medium, beige head. Big syrupy and caramel aroma, with some earthy hops and some vanilla, smoky notes of scotch. Very sweet flavor up front, with some significant bitterness through the finish. Medium to heavy body, silky and acidic feel, with a little carbonation coming through in the finish. This is a very strong, scotch-esque beer, with an abrasive, yet remarkably delicious flavor. Recommended.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz. bottle from Appalachian Vintner in Asheville. Dark amber colored pour with a thin off-white head. Delicious aroma; notes of whiskey, wood, vanilla, and oranges. The flavor is a bit on the sweet side, however. Sugary sweet brown sugar, maple syrup, and a touch of citrus. The mouthfeel is right where it should be for a barley wine of this ABV. Itís too bad the taste did not match the aroma but this is still a good barley wine.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at a recent BA/RB tasting. Colour... semi-cloudy amber with a thin head. Nose... sweet with hints of light chocolate malt. Palate... delicately frothy with a very malty character reminiscent of malted milk balls! Quite an alcohol punch then sticky toffee pudding, butterscotch candies and beeswax.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark caramel color with no head. Nose and flavor go as bit oxidized, but brown sugar and caramel also persist. Medium to full mouthfeel.
