22 oz. bottle via NC trade- thanks again, John! Pours a clear copper with a small, wispy off-white head that quickly settles into a film. Aroma of caramel, some grassy and herbal hops, grapefruit, raisins, wood, and light florals. Flavor of caramel, grass, mellow spice, dates, resin, nectar, honey, and wood chips. Medium-bodied, with modest carbonation and a smooth, resinous mouthfeel. Some bitterness on the finish. Excellent barley wine.

Bottle. Pours the color of maple syrup with a nice sized white head. This flavors and nose make it clear this is English-style...very sweet, a bit sticky, and a low to medium level of carbonation. Itís a bit hot and could probably use some age to mellow out as this was a fresh bottle. I typically like a more hopped up American version of a barleywine and this one would be better with age, but for a fresh, sweet Barleywine, it is quite good.

Bottle
Aroma: Citrus, brown sugar, floral hints, alcohol
Appearance: Dark reddish/brown with small off-white head
Taste: Sweet, a bit syrupy.
Palate: Warm alcohol up front, lively alcohol laden mouthfeel. Chewy, although a thinner mouthfeel than I might expect.
Overall: Smooth, tasty sipper in the likes of bigfoot. This is a big beer that doesnít try to hide the alcohol. No off-notes or unpleasant flavors, making this quite pleasing to drink

Bottle thanks to Chris!   Nice English style Barley Wine, caramel, toffee, musty, with some Olde Ale notes with dark pitted fruit.   Smooth, low hops, sweet bready maltiness.   Great stuff.   My kind of Barley Wine!
