Bottle… C&P’sLYFO Throwdown… Hazy amber ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. The aroma is too subtle for my lame olfactory system – I really can’t smell a thing – completely neutral. Light to medium-bodied and very fizzy. Well-balanced… much like a PNW IPA. Not a whole lot of flavor… much unlike a PNW IPA. Bittersweet, astringent, dry finish. Bottle provided by fogdog! * * Video = http://homepage.mac.com/maltajo/RATEBEER/iMovieThe

On tap at Barleys, Asheville NC, 6 July 2006. Hazy orange/gold colour. Decent balance between grassy hops and biscuity malt. Smooth and easy drinking. But nothing really stood out. As with many UK cask bitters I have drunk the overall experience is satisfying but the wow factor is lacking. This is not intended as a criticism. It does what it does (and presumably intends to do) - provides a straightforward, enjoyable drinking experience - pretty well without hitting the high notes.
