Flavor: well balanced caramel malt flavor with lots of earthy hops, just a touch of sweetness to support the hops, light bitterness lasts through a long finish

Draft @ th e brewery. Pours a golden amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy citrus aroma. Fruity malty hoppy flavor with hints of caramel and hints of citrus. Has a fruity malty hoppy finish.

22oz bottle. Small off-white head atop hazy light amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, some cattiness, orange, light bread. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, some bread, light spicy/catty. Light-medium body, quite drinkable.

Bottle… C&P’sLYFO Throwdown… Hazy amber ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. The aroma is too subtle for my lame olfactory system – I really can’t smell a thing – completely neutral. Light to medium-bodied and very fizzy. Well-balanced… much like a PNW IPA. On tap at Barleys, Asheville NC, 6 July 2006. Hazy orange/gold colour. Decent balance between grassy hops and biscuity malt. Smooth and easy drinking. But nothing really stood out. As with many UK cask bitters I have drunk the overall experience is satisfying but the wow factor is lacking. This is not intended as a criticism. It does what it does (and presumably intends to do) - provides a straightforward, enjoyable drinking experience - pretty well without hitting the high notes.
