11/26/13. On tap at the Mellow Mushroom downtown Asheville. Orange pour with a small khaki head. Mild aroma, hints of citrus, some bready and doughy malts. Even milder flavor, malty even, some biscuit, dough, caramel, barely a touch of earthy hops. Meh.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at burgermeister, west Asheville, NC - pours orange with a white head. Aroma is floral with a bitter dry finish. Not my style, but I like this one. It’s a flavorful and well-balanced example of a boring style.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
From tap. Pours a hazy orange color with lingering head. Aroma is straight floral and fruity hops. The taste doesn’t change from that, adds balance with bready malt and a slight hop bittering. A new favorite!

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Consumed at the May 2011 LEAF Festival (very near the brewery) and again Sept. 2011 at the brewery.
A - Amber. Clear. Nice bone head is creamy and has very good retention.
S - Pleasant but rather unremarkable aroma that is typical for style.
T - Well balanced with toasted malt flavor that allowed the hops to shine. Hops eventually dominate, leaving a distinct bitter finish and lingering bitter grapefruit peel aftertaste.
M - Smooth with excellent (moderate) carbonation. Some dryness in the finish
O- Very good pale ale with a bonus: it’s certified organic.

This is my favorite local Asheville Pale Ale, and Pisgah is quickly becoming my favorite brewery. Their variety of beers is amazing.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer has a great aroma is mild bread like and doughy malty, the only fault lies in the overall taste with it being a little watery in substance, however this is a great beer for the session drinkers.
