OldGrowth (2670) - North Carolina, USA - APR 12, 2014
Bottle, from Bruisin Ales, Asheville. Good aroma, sweet. A mix of fruit, berry, red fruit, and classic kolsch. Clean brownish orange color, good initial head, faded quick, little to no lace. Sweet flavor. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, sweet finish. Well, this one jumps all over. For me the aroma is best part, really fails on finish. Aroma has some nice sweet moments, but finish, and flavor, fail for me aroma is falling apart as it warms. A yeasty streak takes over from the fruity streak I like. Oh well, I tried......

Draft taster at the brewery. Pours a clear, bright gold with a small white head. Notes of caramel and biscuit malts, booze, straw, grass, and florals. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a boozy mouthfeel. Not bad, but this isn’t a style for me.

Draft - Boozey pale malts. Cloudy dark gold with a decent white head. Tastes just as it smells with the yeasty booze in the finish. Not my thing.

Drake (8563) - Free Union, Virginia, USA - FEB 13, 2014
Bomber from Bruisin. Pours a clear amber color with a large frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of raw grain, toasted malt, cider apples, caramel, floral hops. The taste is caramel malts, floral hops, a bit of nuts and stone fruit and the faintest acetone note. Medium bodied, good balance.
