22 ounce bottle from Greenlife Grocery in Asheville, NC. Pours a dark brown color with a large tan head. Good head retention and decent lacing. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, caramel and a bit of a hoppy finish. The taste is leafy hops, chocolate and a roasty slightly grainy finish. Medium bodied. Decent beer.

This is the fifth growler Degarth opened out of seven he brought back from his trip. Thanks buddy. Pours deep brown with amber edges and thin tan head. Nice full aroma well above average for the style with burnt malts and molasses mixed with earthiness. I also get some licorice and mild malt roastiness. The flavor is like the aroma with tasty bold notes of burnt malts, roasty malts and molasses. Nice distinct flavors that don’t really come together but the flavor experience is actually enhanced with this distinctiveness. Nice sessionable brew that ends a bit thin. Leaves toasty-roasty-burnt notes into the after taste.
