4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
On tap at Davidson Beverage Company. Caveat up front I think most American made tripels are too sweet, and while this one was just a wee bit sweet for my taste, I thought it was outstanding. When I say a wee bit sweet I mean just a hair of the chinny chin chin sweet. I only wish I could homebrew a tripel this good. Great tripel, better than some Belgian made Iíve tried, and I could drink this all the time if it were available in my area. Nice job Pisgah Brewing Company.

Draft in a flight at the brewery. This was really too sweet and yeasty for my taste. Very off-putting. Great aroma, but the taste doesnít follow it.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pale honey pour. Clove and banana aroma. The taste had the subtle fruits, banana, apple, and was very sweet for a tripel. Good mouthfeel...light.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Iím so glad the brewery is just down the street. Stopped in on my Asheville summer brewery tour to have a glass. Pours a hazy orange-straw into the glass, with a huge pillowy head that leaves fluffy whipped lacing. The nose has tons of banana and bubblegum notes. Lots of belgian yeast provides a bready note to the fruity esters, sweet wheat and banana flavors. Some clove enters toward the end, and couples with a touch of alcohol in the finish. The mouthfeel is a bit lighter than I expected, but still full-bodied and complex. A nice tripel Iíve had not the chance to rate until now. Tasty!

Poured with a huge head. Very mild clove and banana aromas. Taste is very mild clove, banana and fruity esters. Wine like flavor in the middle, maybe due to age. Overall, I really enjoy this beer.

Draft at the brewpub. My favorite of the visit. Bright golden. Active. Fruity and light, yet delivering a decent kick. Quite good. (#4282, 10/4/2011)

Tap at pisgah - pours a clear gold with a white head. Aroma is rosin and spicy like clove, maybe? I canít place it. Taste is fantastic, a little sweet with a lingering bready, creamy finish. Overall, this is fantastic! I wouldnít have known this was almost 10% apv if they hadnít mentioned it.
