Bottle at Paul’s Hoboken Gathering: Cloudy yellow with a big frothy white head. The aroma is Grainy with a lemon hint. The body is extremely frothy and voluminous/ highly carbonated. Flavor has a nice sharp refreshing character with a hint of lemon and a subtle banana touch in the background. Easy drinking.

Bottle… Murky, straw-colored ale with a mid-sized, wispy, white head. Great retention. Metallic, yeasty aroma with underlying coriander and banana. Full-bodied with moderate carbonation. Sweet pale malts and white bread with a spicy, coriander note. Finishes sweet, breadsy and lightly spicy. Bottle shared by Beerlando!

june 2008. a hazy gold pour with a crazy amount of bubbles under a medium sized creamy white head. fruity with pineapple, apple, vanilla, and assorted tropical fruits with yeast and some spice(coriander?) in aroma. fruity flavor of cherry, peach, and red apple. dry, with moderate carbonated palate. a unique tripel with red apple notes and less of the marshmallowy yeasty flavors i am used to. this brewery has a lot of potential and should branch its distribution soon.

March 2008 batch. The pour is a hazy, glowing, golden-tangerine color. A foamy, off-white head leaves soapy lacing to drip back down the glass. Aromas include bright citrus esters, spicy orange peel and coriander, with pervasive notes of Belgian yeast and light cream. Flavors continue the theme, bready and yeasty throughout, with exuberant citrus notes and peppery spice. Moderate in body and slightly overcarbonated, the mouthfeel is slightly syrupy but avoiding cloyingness. Overall, this is a pretty decent representation of the style, but isn’t special. I’ve never been one to really get excited about tripels, and this one is no exception.

750ml bottle courtesy of durhambeer. Pours a hazy light golden color with a huge fat white head. Aroma of yeast, malt, coriander and spices. Taste of bread dough, coriander, bananas, and clove. Flavors are nice and well defined. Good balance overall and has a crisp mild tart finish.

Dang. Asheville brewing is here. This is a damn good Tripel by a brewery I knew about but had not had the chance to try. This bottle was brought by family in the area, and it has sat for a few months waiting patiently to be opened. Sweet. Bit fruity. Poured a big white head. A nice Tripel all around.
