Valdez Stout on tap at the brewery (from notes). This has more coffee than malt; excellent sweet bitter balance. The body is a tad over carbonated but smooth. Exceptionally durable beige head.
Rather like a strong Kona.Pipeline Porter.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Leighton (6913) - London, ENGLAND - APR 22, 2013
Bottle shared on the RBWG 2013 bus - I think I can thank the Turd for this one? Pours oily black-brown with a creamy tan head. Rich coffee aroma, some dark fruits. Medium sweet flavor with rich coffee and moderate earthy bitterness. Very good balance. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly roasty to finish, some dark toast, great coffee character. I like it a lot.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 timfoolery (882) - California, USA - MAR 9, 2013
Bottle from Justin. Thin and coffee would be two words to describe this beer. I'm trying to figure out how this is rated close to Blackout Stout. Anyway, aroma and flavor are, surprise thin stout and coffee. Some roastiness, but not near enough malt in this one to keep my attention. Noticed a good amount of carb going down. Ok beer.

Bottle thanks to Turdferguson at RBWG! Pours an opaque black from the bottle with thin tan head and light lace. Aroma and taste of coffee, slight dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, and more coffee; dry, thick finish on the mouth. Definitely a coffee stout, but definitely nice for breakfast.

651mL shared by TURDFERGUSON at RBWG. Pours inkier black than expected, deeper mocha head. Nose is big coffee, goaty, gamey/animal, pretty green overall. Taste is very nice- roasty, silky, savory, steak fat, peppercorn. Lemon coffee acidity in back end. Pretty good stuff.

Bomber to taster (thanks turdferguson). Looks good; pitch black with beige lacing. Smells and tastes solid; coffee and dark malt with an exceptionally smooth mouthfeel. A great example of the style.

Pours a pitch black with a medium mocha head. Aroma has loads of nice coffee...hint of sweetness and a hint of roasty smoke. Flavor has some sweet coffee notes, nuttiness, dark fruit, and nice mild roasty smoke. Mouthfeel is light and the finish is dry roasty coffee.

Draft at Trailhead. Pours black with an inch of khaki head which leaves lacing. Big, beautifully roasted coffee on the nose. Big coffee on the tongue as well but it’s not a coffee bomb. Finishes clean. When people think of craft beer, this is what they’re talking about.
