3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark orange color with off white head. Leaves plenty of lacing on the glass. Hop hop hop aroma of citrus and some pine. Flavor is a bold malt backbone with the big oily hoppy of citrus and pine. As it warms the flavors become more pronounced. Really a very good beer.

Bottle from Appalachian Vintner. Pours dark, dark orange with very little head. A bit of alcohol and pine on the nose. Fairly bitter on the tongue without a ton of flavor. Itís big but Iím not feeling it.

Bomber to snifter (shared with jmborggren, his wife, and the Mrs.; thanks John!). Looks good; a hazy amberish orange with off-white lacing. Smells solid; bitter hops with a semi-sweet malty backbone. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Good beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
The aroma very hoppy and sweet with citrus and pine as well as brown sugar. The appearance is amber with a small head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall itís interesting but a bit too astringent for me.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy amber orange from the bomber with fluffy white cap and good lacing. Aromas of citrus and earthy hops, hints of sweet toffee malts, and alcohol. Taste is super bitter, but kind of like an aged IPA moving towards a barley wine. Triple pale ale, hmmmm, I guess that equates to a DIPA. Itís alright, but nothing worth really seeking out.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Originally reviewed: 4/16/10. 22oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a very cloudy dark amber/orange with a thick bone-white head on top. Excellent retention; left a good amount of lace on the glass. Some rings present as well. Scents of greens, toffee, booze, and a bit of pepper spiciness.
The body was pretty bubbly, but it went down smooth nonetheless. The bitterness on this one was tending towards the harsher side. Not mouth-scalding, but a little burning. Alcohol was definitive in the flavor as well. Sweetness was absent. This tasted like an aged DIPA. All in all it wasnít bad, but itís not one I would reach for very often.
