A hazed blonde wit with a thick frothy white head. In aroma, a sweet fruity banana malt with faint cloves and light sulfur, very classic. In mouth, a smooth sweet banana with silky mouthfeel, cloves, coriander, classic. Tasted with GRM on August 28, 2012. Merci Sylvain.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2012 My Bottom Line:
Within this slender Witbier evolves refreshing coriander seeds, crunchy wheat, and floral allusions, a flavor profile ably developed by forceful effervescence.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam crowns the very pale yellow.
-Citrusy edges and watery moments appear once in a while.
-The nose and flavor profile are pleasant, balanced and geared towards drinkability.
-There are lots of good Witbiers in Quebec, so this one won’t stand out much, but it is still competently made and very refreshing.

Bottles.

March 21, 2012 with blankboy and garthicus. My 500ml bottle. Very pale, hazy gold, no bubbling at all, with a large frothy white head. Simple floral / lemon aroma; somehow it’s a bit unpleasant, can’t put my finger on why. Taste - not bad - lemon and ginger, no alcohol, not much fruity malt to it. Average body, solid carbonation, a little acidic, finishes quickly, leaves a dry lightly stinging coating on the palate - not bad, a little thin.

Bottle [500ml] shared with garthicus & HogTownHarry -- c/o HogTownHarry. March 21. Pours a hazy yellow/light gold with a small frothy white head. Aroma of lemon, yeast and light herbs. Flavour of lemon and ginger, almost Soda Pop-like. Average bodied. Just O.K.

(Rating #3461)

Boutip (4026) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 4, 2010
Bottle: Poured a light hazy yellow color ale with a large light white head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of coriander is dominant with some light wheat malt notes. Taste is also dominated by coriander with a smaller malt backbone then expected. Body is a bit light for style with good carbonation. Not bad but additional malt would have provided better enjoyment of this beer.

Cruchon 1,82L.

From a growler bought at Lavigne. NIce sound when opening. The pour: big foamy white head, lasting for the first glass, a bit less fot the others, thenose is very belgian wit, with some citrus, wheat, spices. The taste is also very belgian, nice mouthfell. some citrus and spices. Overall one of the best white beer brewed in quebec. The only turn-off is the size of the growler so the beer tends to be flat before ending drinking the bottle.
