Bomber from Broue Ha Ha, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear amber with large floaties and a fair off-white head. Aroma: Nice juicy citrus and dank pine/resin, slightly tropical with some peach/apricot, sweet caramel backbone, somewhat peppery a little mashy/brothy, spot-on for an American IPA. Palate: Medium body, somewhat relaxed effervescence. Flav.: Peppery and quite resinous, a bit less fruit/citrus character, strong caramel support, a little dusty, still hits the mark for an AIPA; dry with pretty good bitterness and a decent caramel, dusty, resinous finish.

Bravo, Pit Caribou.

One of the best American-style IPAs I’ve had, a liberally hopped West Coast style IPA that has notes of pine, alfalfa and a hint of caramel. A very gritty IPA seeing that it’s unfiltered, you see a lot of sediment, which gives it an extra bite. It’s a bit heavier on my stomach than most IPAs out there, but this is proof that a microbrasserie from the Gaspé region can produce IPAs comparable to the West Coast. Hop forward, very bitter yet delicious. This and Le Castor’s Yakima IPA are easily on my top 5 Eastern Canadian IPA list.

[Bottle (660ml)] Pours a hazy golden-orange with a small lasting fizzy/frothy tan head. Aroma is nice and fruity along with a good amount of hops, a hint of spices and a touch of yeast. Lovely flavour, so fruity and hoppy -- there’s some alcohol there but it’s reasonably well hidden. Nice bitter finish. Medium bodied. I loved it.

660 bottle. Bright hazy orange, like unpasteurized honey with a soapy white head. Deep and resinous with juicy candied orange, dank herb, dried mango, guava, peach and light caramel maltiness. A nice balance between sweet and bitter, and richly fruity. Moderate plus body with below average carbonation and a sticky mouth coating palate. Painfully good.

660ml bottle. Pours a nearly clear, copper/orange with a one finger, off white head that thins to a film and leaves modest lacing. . Aroma has big notes of pine, resin, bread, tropical fruit, and citrus. Taste is a solid bitter with a good malt backbone. Notes of resin, pine, grapefruit, citrus, and a hint of alcohol. Long, drawn out, resiny, bitter aftertaste. Medium body and carbonation. Medium resiny texture wit a semi-dry finish. Overall really nice. Resin, pine and some tropical/citrus fruits paired with a balanced, but solid bitter. Very nice.

Hazy dark orange, almost a red, with a thin white head. Predominantly citrus and yeast aromas with some spice notes. Taste is dominated by fine grapefruit hops and a remarkable bitter aftertaste. Medium to high carbonation, very refreshing. Delicious.
