COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

500ml bottle from Monde des Bières.
Appearance : Deep dark brown with big brown foamy head.
Aroma : Roasted malt with light smoke and light chocolate. Some coffee too.
Taste : Roasted malt, coffee. Light smoke. Very light chocolate. Light coffee on finish with roasted malt, light smoke and light chocolate.
Palate : Soft palate. Thin body.
Overall : Not a bad porter. I don’t know if it’s just me but I was expecting something a bit heavier and fuller bodied seeing "Robust Porter" on the label. Still, a nicely drinkable porter with some complexity. Palate feels a bit thin for 6.2%. Not bad but nothing special.

Appearance: A black/brown beer. A tan head with small lacing and good curtains.
Taste: Tasting burnt bread, old dates, soy sauce and smoke.
Palate: Medium low carbonation, a sticky texture. A big body with a slightly dry finish.
Overall: Very dark and rather sweet.
Note: Bottle 500 ml in Montreal. Reviewed 2013-03-23.

March 21, 2012 with blankboy and garthicus. My 500ml bottle. Pours almost opaque brown-black with a lasting smallish tan/light brown creamy/rocky head. Aroma - erm, not too good - dry, vegetal - background roast and cocoa/coffee (5+). Taste is not bad - not much nasty, mostly deep roast and an odd earthy jalapeño pepper character without the heat .. hardly any alcohol. Average body, light carbonation - starts like a bitter chocolate and finishes dry and almost gritty (3-). Ehhh, whatever.

Smells robust, some espresso. Pours with mocha, almost rusty head that dies after a while and takes the lacing with it. Has a little smoke in it with some dark chocalate and musk. Decent. Bottle from Peluso.
