Pretty beer. Foggy pale orange/honey color. Off white head that fades quickly. Nice balance of herby and citrusy hops. Medium thin palate. Honey, peach, lemon. Intense but pretty balanced hops. Slightly sweet. Bitter but not astringent. Yummy.

Pours a very hazy orange. Flat with no carbonation at all. Extremely thin white head. Light lacing as drunk. On the nose, this is a hoppy beer, but more in the citrusy realm, than pine. Hints of orange peel. On the palate, there is citrus, caramel, and a decided bitterness. Definite orange peel on the swallow. At 90 IBUs, those looking for a sweet beer, should keep looking. At 8.2 abv this is a slow sipper. All Hopheads should try this one without reservation.

500 ml bottle bought from Les Marchands de Bières (Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec) on January 23, 2014. Creamy blond, thin head. aroma of grapefruit and mandarin dry, gently hopped. The taste is quite a bit more pronounced, a little sweet touch, good bitterness. This is world class from the edge of Quebec!

On tap at le trefle noir as a guest tap. Hazy orange pour, small off white head. Heaping aroma of pine and grapefruit. Thick mouth feel, medium carb. Sticky sweet malts, mix extremely well with the sticky hops. The finish is highly bitter, and quite resinous in the end. A very nice dipa.

[Bottle (500ml) c/o Glouglouburp] Pours a cloudy golden-orange with a large lasting frothy off-white head. Slightly milder then expected aroma of grassy hops, a bit resiny and fruity as well, along with bready malt. Flavour starts mild but gets bigger, it’s sweet, fruity and malty along with hops and some alcohol. Big bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not as good as expected but still quite good overall.

Draft at Vices & Versa with Street, PJ, Brendan, Andrew and Ricky. Pours a hazy golden orange body with creamy white lacing. Aroma is fresh citrus, nice floral bouquet and some pine. Mouthfeel is medium with a nice malt presence in the back dominated by citrus, pine and flower petals. Good IPA.

(Rating #5452)

Boutip (4726) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 14, 2014
Bottle: Poured a deep orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrus hops notes with some coney and piney hoppy notes also noticeable. Taste is also dominated by a nice mix between some citrus, piney and coney hops notes with medium bitter ness level and a light sweet caramelized malt finish. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I thought this fell a bit short in terms of hops floral aroma notes but still very enjoyable.
