500ml bottle. Pours pitch black with a large head. Aroma is licorice, coffee and some dark berries coming through at the end. Not much to start, some berries and faint roasted malt. Finishes with licorice and mild coffee. Hides it strength. Very drinkable for an imperial stout.

Deep black in colour with a thin coffee coloured head. Aroma of coffee, cherries, malt, deep roast, smoke. Flavour had lots of coffee up front, malt, smoke, very roasty with a small amount of sweetness. Finish is smokey with a really long bitterness.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
DC/MD/VA/WV/PA gathering. Unfortunately, only got the last 1 oz if that. Thanks to Hopscotch though for sharing a bit more of his sample. Pitch black, tan head. Tons of rich butterscotch and port like aroma The flavor matched with obvious notes of buttery milk chocolate, roasted coffee, with some slight dark fruit undertones. Full bodied, soft carbonation, buttery, malty finish. Very unique and if locally available, would definitely keep around for when the mood strikes.....

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Black body with a slight tinge of red and a small mocha head. The aroma is vinous, raisiny, boozey, and has notes of figs. Dry, thin fruity flavour with toasted bread notes. Lacks substantive character.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
My 1,100th beer. Little bottle from Pitfield Beer Store in a Duvel glass. Very dark brown/black and a nice coffee head - it looks nice. Aroma is malt, chocolate, coffee and banana, pleasent. However, it is in the tasting that this beer falls as itís not really all that nice, as Joris suggest the yeast seems like itís been overworked and throws up all sorts of off flavours that suggests that it might have struggled to hit the 9.3%. The malt is untidy, the chocolate/coffee is too bitter. Itís quite nice, but not brilliant. Milestone music was a hundred bottles of beer on the wall.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours deep dark black with a short creama head. Lovely aroma of dark malts, coffee and chocolate. Quite fruity too. Sweet choc start with a fruity mid. Suprisingly yeasty in flav, touch of vegemite there. Bit of liquorice too. Not very refined, but not a bad beer. Medium-full in body, a little oily.
