5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Best beer ever made by Pittsburgh Brewing Co.--even better than the old IC Golden Lager--Augustiner is definetly one of the best beers ever made, and I've been around and drank a lot.

Copper color with a quickly diminishing fizzy white head. Flavor is weird--sweet but metallic. Mouthfeel is fizzy and kind of unpleasant.

A good lager, it’s got a nice fruity taste to it, and is great to drink any time of the year. It’s got a good head, price and consistency...I might be buyist because it’s from pittsburgh.

My friend bought this by mistake, thinking it was the dark Augustiner. Still quite good.

This is what you get for buying brown glass and then skimping on the screwtop caps. This beer had a thin malt backing with a bare hint of fruit, but corny, DMS, metallic, skunk hop funkiness made this beer about as appealing as watching a dog clean its own bum.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Good alternative to Yuengling Lager. Fairly smooth with a good color. Best served ice cold if you can. Definately a good effort by PBC.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Copper coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of grapes, malt and a slight hoppiness. Medium to Light-bodied; Strong mettalic twang with a large malt presence and a small fruityness (grapes and raisins). Aftertaste bittered from the toasted malt and the metal. Overall, not very pleasant, but I knew that going into it! I bought this twelve ounce bottle from Premier Gourmet in Buffalo, New York and sampled it on 06-December-2003.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Lighet golden almost tannish colour. Thin clean almost sparkeling white head that discipates quickly. Good carbonation. Hoppy almost wheaty nose but the taste is dilute with some hops and unbalanced alcohol flavor. In the end. it just doesnt do anything for me.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Not awful. Drank from a can (well, a bunch of them) at the family reunion; I'm going to give it a default 3 on appearance. Tasted like it would have been better out of a glass; some malt, a wee bit of Germanic hops.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
A nutty/grassy/oily/cherryish aroma which was interesting. A needs-work label, but good pale ale colored lager. A little oxidized tasting, and under-hopped. Sweetish, a litle grainy and doughy. A very drinkable beer, but overall not a very good beer, if that makes any sense. Flattish, quick, grainy finish.
