Commercial Description:
We brewed this one for you, to sip and savor, as you reflect during the long Berkshire winter. Rick from Bear Meadow Apiary supplied us with 60 lbs. of honey out of his hives on Dave's Melon Farm here in Pittsfield. The sweet melon notes lent by this local honey are reminiscent of summer fun. Sweet and malty with strong alcohol undertones and moderate hop bitterness. German malt, American and English hops.

Growler thanks to Slander. If theres anything in the aroma, it ain’t good. Flavor is pretty straight forward boring. If I didnt know there was honey in it, I wouldn’t pick it up. This may be one of the worst tasting barleywines ever. More stale hops and rotten fruits.

Pours an opaque mahogany color with a thin white ring of bubbles around the glass. Half barley wine, half braggot, this beer falls somewhere in the middle of the spectrum but is ultimately closer to an English style barley wine. Aromas of caramel, melons, wildflowers, wild honey, oranges, and sweet malt mask the alcohol well on the nose. Taste is of sweet malt, spices, honey, summer fruit and earthy hops. Mouthfeel is full and the finish is semi sweet with a nip of warming alcohol at the very end. One of the better brewpub barleywines I’ve tasted.
