Bottle @Buskers Pub (Rome), shared by ippopotamo36 (thanks Alberto!). Deep brown honey color with a good beige foam. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel, some coffee. Flavour is well balanced, roasted notes, little sweet, with a decent bitter end, some caramel. Light body, medium to light carbonation. Nice!

31/08/2010 - 30cl from tap @ Medvedgrad Adzijina
Clear dark red to brown beer (not exactly black). Tick beige rocky head. Aroma is malty, sweet, dried fruits, caramel. MF is a little flat, medium body and somewhat watery texture. Taste is sweet, roasted malts, some red berries. Aftertaste has a little coffee bitterness, caramel and some acidity to keep the beer balanced. Good brew.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Thanks to Marko, I managed to sample the new, bottled version of this beer. Even though Gricka Vjestica is still my beer to go at Medvedgrad, I’m no stranger to this one. Pours dark brown, with aroma of roasted malts and moderate foam. Soft to moderate carbonization. Sweetness and bitterness complement each other well after giving way to coffee/caramel. That said, not a complex beer.

Draught at Zagreb
Dark hazelnut color, cappuchino head. Light hoppy aroma. Slightly roasted, hoppy mouthfeel. Oily aftertaste. Maybe "the easiest" to drink of Pivnica Medvedgrad beers.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at the Božidara Adžije location. Darkest brown lager, foamy over-the-top head. Soapy foam nose. Coating, rusty roast. Strong flavor, a touch metallic but otherwise very tasty. Striking roast, but same eggy, sour lactic nose that turned me off their other strong beer. Quite nice overall.

Bottle courtesy of Boban, thank you. Shared with mortlach and Valerio in Rome at Buskers pub. Pours almost black with syrupy texture close to a reddish brown, tick and frothy beige cap with incredible retention and drafts. Nose: caramel, roasted malts, fresh tough. Mouth: watery as the style requires, a bit too thin but without any evident flaw. The roasted malty feel is there with a well-balanced bitterness. Some non-disturbing caramel too.
