Golden coloured. Clear. Fruity, tastes like crystal malt. Some wheat flavour. Somewhat sweetish. Clean, low bitterness. Good, but not my favourite of the selection at the brewpub

Draught at Zagreb
Hazy orange, small white head. Sweet banana and wheat aroma. Very bitter, grape flavor. Strong bitter aftertaste. Interesting "different" weizen, more Belgium than German.

Comments: A dark, but fair example of the style with pleasant esters and well extracted wheat.

31/08/2010 - 30cl from tap @ Medvedgrad Adzijina

Very cloudy orange to beige coloured beer, thick creamy adhesive white head. Aroma has meat in it, like veal, hops and yeast. You can definitely tell the difference with the lager yeast in the other beers. MF is a little flat, full body though. Texture is creamy. Taste is creamy as well, with citrus, yeast and spices. Aftertaste is a little malty again with citrus notes.

On tap at the brewpub in Zagreb, July 2008. Hazy orange-brown with a medium white head. Typical hefeweizen aroma with wheat, fruits (particularly banana). Easy to drink with some sourness in the taste. Also some spices, banana and malt. Sweet finish.

Big bottle from my friend Peter B. Many thanks. Dark golden color with small white head. Aroma of wheat, banana, clove. Taste, wheat, banana, clove. Strange aftertaste.

What a disappointment. Definitely not as good as the other Medvedgrad beers are. A couple of friends, who’re not that much into beer claimed that this was great. It damn wasn’t. I really hope it was just a bad batch. It was a darker brown/orange, just about as dark as the Paulaner Dunkelweizen I had. There was no head at all. The nose is all cloves and some bananas. Cloves own the taste... and it’s not that pleasant. Cloves are probably my least favorite "weissbier" taste, and they completely dominate the taste. The aftertaste is strange. My notes say burned bubblegum. I’ll try this again, but I don’t expect anything to change.
