Semi dark lager. Nut brown colour. Judging from both appearance and flavour it might be a mix of Crna Kraljica and Zlatni Medvjed. Anyhow it is a tasty dark lager, with some chocolate flavour and bitter finish.

Hazy ruby, offwhite medium-sized head. Light aroma, malts. Sweet malty backbone with strong saaz-hoppied palate. Hoppy aftertaste too.

on tap upstairs at the brewpub, waiting for the storm to subside as some guy sang songs out the window. reddish brown with a chun ky head; aroma hints of red berry and grass; tinny bitterness, light stonefruits, dull texture. seemed like a polotmavy to me

Comments: An excessively sweet dark lager with a fruit focused exaggerated sweetness. Weaker than the sum of its parts I find and a bit overly fizzy.

31/08/2010 - 30cl from tap @ Medvedgrad Adzijina

Note: this beer is a mixture of Zlatni Medvjed (+-70%) and Crna Kraljica (+-30%) and is mixed from trap in the glass. This means that the beer is never exactly the same.

A slightly clouded amber coloured beer with off-white rocky head, disappears quickly. A very prounounced yeast aroma with hints of caramel and hops. Mouthfeeling is round, full body. Taste is malty, a little hoppy, some caramel and spices like cumin. Aftertaste is fresh malty, not sweet. Some acidity.

Yes, this is definitely a mix of Crna Kraljica and Zlatni Medvjed. I loved the other "bear", but this wasn’t close. It looked good though, brown, thick persistant head that left tons of lacing (a legacy from the "queen" I guess), fizzy. It tasted exactly like one would expect it to taste. The "parent" beers are great in their own ways, but this isn’t as good. Faint hoppy aroma (Medvjed), hoppy taste (Medvjed), with some malty/liquorice hints (Kraljica), slightly bitter aftertaste (toned down version of the Zlatni Medvjed aftertaste). It’s well rounded, but, as I already said...twice, it’s not as good as the others.

Nice to drink, refreshing and most important, it was a dark one, I just love the sweetness of the Southern Slavic beers, reminds me the Canadians.

Light brown color, slight chocolatey sour nose. Not very balanced, slightly chocolate and cherry notes, but not very good.
