The nose is grain, sweet malt, a touch of iced tea and grassy hops. The taste is biscuits, grain, grass, light honey and citrus zest. Medium semi-creamy mouthfeel. An OK beer. bhensonb (4404), Woodland, California, USA

Brassy gold color with a large frothy white head. Grainy, spicy aromas. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is sweetish caramel with very little hop to balance. Ok, but that’s it. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 18, 2007 Lightly hazy straw-gold brew, thin, beady head. Funny label. Sweet straw, coldwater malt aroma. Graham sweetness, black pepper, some funny over-sparged flavors, moderate astringency. Finishes with a spittable grain bitterness and a clinging unpleasant sweetness. I search in vain for a lager gem surpise from the Soviet Bloc. Picked this up for $2.29/500 ml at Rosemont Liquors, Rosemont, IL near O’hare. SN11 (57), USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Feb 4, 2007 Strong aroma yet grainy flavor with dominating hoppiness. A pleasant yet rich and balanced taste where 6% alcohol overshadowed by vriety of flavors and is not as upfront as in some other pilsners. Slightly weak finish and plain aftertaste. Deffinately a great Polish beer. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 1, 2006 Mid-golden bodied with extremely light carbonation. A short, white head fades fast but clings to my Pils glass in a watery lace. A light hint of pine to a grassy, grainy, herbal aroma. Buttery palate carries honey-sweetness with light, bitter hopping.
Not a bad beer, and it’s literary reference has sparked in me an interest in the work of Henryk Sienkiewicz. While it doesn’t seem like an easy read, I have added the 1999 film "With Fire and Sword" to my Netflix queue < src=http://www.ratebeer.com/images/smilies/14.gif& /> <font size=-4>Single bottle from <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=1 cellar.<font size=-1> Cornfield (4981), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2006 I’m puzzled somewhat by the two Zagloba listings. My bottle, purchased in a Polish neighborhood yesterday, is definitely fresh. But the label lists the abv as 6%, more akin to the older version of the beer.
Definitely a good Bohemian Pilsener. Golden with a creamy white head and steady beading, it exhudes an aroma of bready malts and light grassy & floral hops. Creamy mouthfeel. The flavor is a smooth balance between the malts and the hops, finishing on a lightly sweet note.
