3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours murky brown thick and swampy with a creamy sandy colored head. Aroma and flavor bring the vanilla nicely, not overbearing at all, just the right sweetness on a body that is thicker, with a unique creaminess.

Pour from a 32 oz pizza boy growler.
Overall sweet undertones and a mild cocoa sweetness. Taste is very sweet with tons of lactose sugar and some vanilla. Overall a bit of a disappointment for me as I love vanilla. Mouthfeel was sweet and slick not oily per say but slick. Lighter side of medium bodied.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Growler from the brewery. Pours deep black. Aromas of toast, vanilla bean. The taste is roasty, creamy vanilla, dark fruits of raisin and plum. Light carb. Excellent. Smooth. Love it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz pour at the brewery. Pours a standard black with soft white head. Nose has an interesting blend of vanilla, raisin, malt, chocolate, toast, anise. All aromas are well balanced and not too pungent. Vanilla is the first thing on your tongue, malt is there too, brown sugar, a little doughy. Sweet finish.

Decent porter. I would have liked a bit more froth in the head and a bittering balance to the malts, but still good nonetheless.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2013 Served on-tap at Al’s of Hampden.
A - Pours deep, dark brown with a nice one finger tall tan head leaving patchy rings of lace down parts of the glass.
S - Smells of warm vanilla, raisins, figs, chocolate and dark roasted malt. The vanilla really starts to build toward the end of the glass but it stays fairly well balanced.
T - Starts off with plenty of vanilla sweetness quickly giving way to hints of dark roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit and some light graininess. The vanilla is sweet but not to the point of being cloying. Finish is kinda sweet but it doesn’t linger for very long.
M - Medium-Light body with moderate carbonation. Smooth feel initially growing a little thin toward the end of the glass.
O - First time I had this one it was a little thin, however the second time it was much better. The vanilla works well with the base and the low ABV makes it very easy to drink. A very nice "milk porter."
