4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: DEC 7, 2013 Served on-tap at Al’s of Hampden.
A - Pours murky pinkish purple with a nice one finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a light film, leaving small spots of lace on the sides of the glass.
S - Smells of tart blueberries, woody oak, lactic sourness, light musty funk and some bready malt. Smells just like the base but with the addition of the wood aging.
T - Starts off with the tart blueberries quickly giving way to hints of light basement must, touch of funk, oak and plenty of drying tannins. Finish is tart and quite dry, lingering long after the finish. The base is dry and this is no exception.
M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Tart, dry feel from start to finish limits how much you could consume.
O - O - Considering this is Royal Tannin Bomb aged in wine barrels I think it came out exactly how I thought it would. It still has all of the tart flavor of Tannin Bomb but with even more dryness thanks to the added wine barrel vinous character. It is a good beer for a great cause, cheers to everyone involved in this one.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz pour at the brewery. Pours a hazy purple with some thin, pinkish head. Nose is nice, lots of fresh muddled berry, a little vegetal, tart, a little wet wood, some funk. Flavor has some well balanced acid, certainly tart, a little wood, lightly vegetal, berries, grass. Clean, lightly tart finish.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler. The pour is a nice purple. The aroma is a nice mild fruit flavor. The taste is very fizzy, light fruit. The drink is overly dry. Good for the style.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This one poured a ruby red color with a pinkish white head. Aroma was of lemons, blueberries, some grape/wine notes, and light cheesy character too. Falvor was very tart, definite blueberry funk and tartness, and some wine caracter too. Very Nice.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Growler. Deep, ruby red color is mildly hazy. Sprouts nearly zero head.
Bold aroma wreaks of lactobacillus. Soured grain and ambiguous fruit support the effort.
Plenty of pucker right off the bat. Seems more like raspberries than blueberries, but I can see the latter being prevalent simply due to the difficulty in bringing blueberries to the forefront in beer. More sourness than fruit character; quite drinkable regardless. Low carb. An enjoyable brew.

Growler shared by Erik, thanks! Pours a hazy light purple with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a real nice rich sour raspberry with a bit of funk and light. Flavor has a great note of tart blueberries with a nice wheat note and just a bit of funk.

Tasted from 1/2 growler. Poured a purplish color with a pinkish tinged head. Aromas and tastes were completely different. Aromas of manure, band aids, and sweaty socks. Tastes of funkiess, blueberries, with some wood and vinous notes.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours a murky purple red with no real head. Aroma of slight blueberry but mostly Brett funk. Some gym sock. Taste is fairly tart but not overpowering. Slight sting on the lips from the acidity. Super effervescent mouthfeel.
