On tap at Al’s / Pizza Boy. Really amazing coffee to the nose along with cream, vanilla, and milk chocolate. Great coffee and body is exquisite. Creamy with light vanilla touch. Compares very well to Terry’s Double Coffee Stout while at Bullfrog.

Draft at the source courtesy of Terry and Al, thanks very much! Black color, brown head. Aroma of fresh french press coffee, cocoa, subtle licorice. Taste is rich freshly roasted dark coffee beans, anise, dark fruit. Amazing stuff.

Growler shared by Terry. Pours opaque black with a medium, creamy tan head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is roast, chocolate, and heavy coffee, dates and figs, earthy and spicy hops. Flavor is malt dominant, heavy coffee, dark fruits, light hops and bitterness with a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

black with thin ring. Coffee rules nose, huge after Earl with some ash, faintly green. Front palate is all coffee, seamless transition into a chocolate mid palate, light grinds and bitterness through the full, sweet decadent end. Best coffee beer I’ve had in years.

Pours thick dark black coffee with a big creamy dark cocoa colored head. Aroma brings the coffee big in the nose with roasted malts and dark cacao. Flavors are rich with big coffee and chocolate on a creamy thick but not overbearing body. The coffee is so smooth and not bitter at all, blended perfectly on every sense.

This one poured a very dark brown to black with a tan head. Aroma was of fresh roasted coffee poured on top of milk chocolate, inviting for sure. Flavor was big ridgy chocolate notes up front follow by a smack in the face of freshly brewed espresso. Not green pepper notes, no sign of alcohol, perfect mouthfeel and Carb level too. A damn good coffee beer.

Almost black in color, deep brown head. Rich coffee notes, chocolate, light roast. The coffee is the star and it’s a phenomenal tasting coffee. Great beer.

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2016 Heavy coffee and some light caramel and vanilla. Rich and sticks to the teeth and tongue. Scent is coffee and a tiny malt. Dark deep blackish red. Tap. Update: Had in can. Extra smooth, still great.

650 ml bottle. Black color with beige brown head. Roasted malty aroma, coffee, chocolate, cocoa, some vegetables - potato. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma but better. Medium to full oily body with soft carbonation.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2014 Growler: very, very dark brown, basically pitch black as it sits in the glass with some deep ruby at the edges only. A light-tan head with a greyish tint shows low retention and leaves little lacing behind. The aroma is big and heavy; huge coffee beans, dark and roasted while lightly sweet underneath with bits of cocoa on the back-end. The dense coffee and balance of roasty vs. sweet is awesome. The taste is just the same - a perfect balance of roasted coffee beans and milky coffee sweetness with a little bit of chocolate that resonates in the finish. Very light hop character mid-palate, with some ashy and dry hops. Would like a little thicker mouth feel, but it’s still nice and creamy. One of my favorite coffee stouts - even better than FBS.
